NCBA Bank Tanzania is redefining modern banking through innovation, reliability, and measurable impact. Guided by its philosophy Maisha ni Hesabu – Life is Numbers, the bank continues to simplify life for customers by offering financial solutions that make every number count — from the time saved on transactions to the value created through accessible and transparent service.
For NCBA, progress is not just about products — it’s about people: the families planning for a secure future, the entrepreneurs expanding their businesses, and the corporates driving Tanzania’s economic growth. Every service, from asset financing to insurance, savings, and investments, is designed to ensure that each interaction translates into real value.
Through Asset Finance, NCBA has helped thousands of Tanzanians acquire vehicles, equipment, and machinery that power trade and industry across the country.

“Our goal is to ensure that when life happens, our customers have the security and support they need. We don’t just sell policies — we deliver protection that counts,” Mr. Mziray added.

Dar es Salaam, October 6, 2025 – CRDB Bank has officially launched its 2025 Customer Service Week celebrations at the Dar Village Branch in Dar es Salaam, aligning with the global theme “Mission Possible”, locally translated as “Mkakati Unaowezekana.”
The colorful launch ceremony brought together customers, staff, financial sector stakeholders, and media representatives. Leading the event, CRDB Bank Acting Managing Director, Boma Raballa, highlighted that this year’s theme reflects the Bank’s remarkable 30-year journey of growth, built on courage, innovation, and a strong customer focus.
“When we began our journey in 1996, many doubted our ability to compete with global giants. But 30 years later, CRDB Bank stands as the largest bank in Tanzania and a leading player in East and Central Africa,” said Raballa.
He emphasized that CRDB’s success story proves that nothing is impossible when backed by the right strategy and collective determination. Raballa outlined key milestones including the Bank’s regional expansion through subsidiaries in Burundi and the Democratic Republic of Congo, the establishment of CRDB Insurance and CRDB Bank Foundation, and the advancement of financial inclusion through CRDB Wakala agents and digital innovations such as SimBanking.
“Today, a farmer in Madeke, Njombe can access financial services through his AMCOS cooperative acting as a CRDB Wakala; a teacher in Malinyi can check their salary on SimBanking without traveling miles to a branch; and a female entrepreneur in Mwanjelwa can secure funding through the IMBEJU program without collateral. These are the real stories of Mission Possible,” Raballa added.
Technology, he said, has been a cornerstone of the Bank’s transformation. CRDB recently completed a major digital milestone by deploying the Temenos Transact (T24) core banking system, bringing the Bank to international standards in speed, security, and innovation.
“This system enhances service delivery, introduces artificial intelligence capabilities, and opens opportunities for expansion into new markets like Dubai,” Raballa noted.

PEOPLE FIRST: THE TRUE MISSION OF CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK 2025
By Asinati Eliafie – IMG (Part of Blanq Network)
Every October, organizations around the world pause to celebrate Customer Service Week — a time to reflect on how we engage, delight, and retain the people who keep our businesses alive: our clients.
This year’s global theme, “Mission Possible,” poses a crucial question:
Is it truly possible to build a customer-first culture?
The answer doesn’t lie in strategies or slogans. It begins within our own walls.
As Richard Branson once said:
“Clients do not come first. Employees come first. If you take care of your employees, they will take care of the clients.”
That belief has shaped my own journey as an entrepreneur and leader.
True customer service doesn’t begin at the counter, the call center, or even in the boardroom — it begins within.
Employees: The First Customers
At IMG and across many Tanzanian brands, we’ve learned a simple truth: our employees are our first customers.
The respect, support, and value we extend to them shape how they, in turn, serve our clients. Forward-looking organizations are realizing that technical training alone isn’t enough — people need trust, a sense of belonging, and a sense of purpose.
When employees feel respected and recognized, they don’t just serve customers — they represent the brand with pride.
An empowered employee becomes the most authentic and powerful form of advertising any company can have.
Partners and Suppliers: The Hidden Ambassadors
Customer service doesn’t end with the people on our payroll.
Our suppliers and partners, though they may not wear our logo, carry our reputation wherever they go.

Dar es Salaam, 6 October 2025 — The African Development Bank Group (AfDB), under the leadership of Dr. Patricia Laverley, Country Manager for Tanzania, has approved a USD 10 million trade finance transaction guarantee facility for Exim Bank Tanzania Limited. The facility aims to unlock new opportunities for Tanzanian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and corporates to access regional and international markets.
This milestone initiative is expected to bridge Tanzania’s trade finance gap, enabling greater participation of local businesses in cross-border trade and supporting the country’s industrialization and growth agenda.
Supporting Local Enterprises and Trade Expansion
SMEs account for over 90% of businesses in Tanzania and contribute nearly a third of the country’s GDP. However, many face persistent challenges accessing affordable trade finance due to high collateral requirements and limited risk appetite from international confirming banks.
Through this new facility, AfDB will provide up to 100% guarantees against non-payment risks, effectively opening up trade finance lines for Exim Bank Tanzania. This will enable the bank to finance the import of essential goods such as fertilizers, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural equipment, which are critical for industrial growth and food security.
