NCBA GOLF SERIES: BUILDING BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES BEYOND THE FAIRWAY

Mwizani Julius follows through on his winning drive during the opening tournament of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series, where he emerged as the Overall Men's Winner.

In business, success is rarely built alone.

Behind every thriving enterprise is a conversation that sparked an idea, a partnership that unlocked growth, or an institution that believed in a vision long before it became a success story. That belief has become one of the most valuable investments in today's economy—and it is a philosophy that continues to define NCBA Bank Tanzania.

This weekend, that philosophy came to life as the bank successfully launched the opening tournament of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series, bringing together golfers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, customers and partners for a day that celebrated far more than sporting excellence.

While exceptional golf was on display, the tournament reinforced something even more significant: meaningful relationships remain among the greatest drivers of business growth.

For NCBA, the Golf Series has evolved into much more than a sporting event. It has become one of East Africa's premier business networking platforms, where conversations become collaborations, relationships become partnerships, and opportunities become reality.

Speaking on behalf of the Managing Director during the tournament, Rahim Suleiman, Head of Global Markets at NCBA Bank Tanzania, said the Golf Series reflects the bank's commitment to empowering ambitions by creating platforms where people, businesses and communities can thrive together.

"At NCBA, we believe banking is about much more than financial transactions. It is about believing in people, creating opportunities and walking alongside our customers as they pursue their ambitions. The Golf Series reflects that commitment by bringing together individuals and businesses whose conversations today can become tomorrow's partnerships and investments," said Suleiman.

Banking on Belief. Empowering Ambitions.

That commitment is anchored in NCBA's philosophy: Banking on Belief. Empowering Ambitions.

It is a philosophy founded on a simple truth—every successful business begins with belief.

STANDARD CHARTERED COLLEAGUES MARK 20 YEARS OF VOLUNTEERING

Dar es Salaam, 27 June 2026 – Standard Chartered Tanzania, in partnership with Nipe Fagio, marked the Bank’s global celebration of 20 Years of Volunteering by bringing together 74 volunteers, including 20 children, for its annual beach clean-up at Silversand Beach in Kunduchi.

The initiative reflects the Bank’s continued commitment to protecting the environment while empowering colleagues to support the communities they serve through meaningful volunteerism.

Commenting on the initiative, Geofrey Mchangila, Chief Executive Officer and Head of Coverage, Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania, said:

This year’s beach clean-up is particularly meaningful as we celebrate 20 Years of Volunteering across Standard Chartered. It reflects our belief that creating lasting impact starts with collective action. Together with our colleagues, their families and our partner, Nipe Fagio, we are helping protect Tanzania’s coastline while contributing to healthier communities and a more sustainable future.”

The clean-up covered approximately 4,000 square metres of coastline, with volunteers collecting 506 kilograms of waste across 55 bags. Waste audits identified plastic materials, particularly polystyrene foam and plastic beverage bottles, among the most common items collected, reinforcing the need for continued action to reduce marine pollution.

The annual beach clean-up has become one of Standard Chartered Tanzania’s flagship volunteering initiatives. Through its partnership with Nipe Fagio over the past three years, the Bank has organised five beach clean-up events, mobilised 594 volunteers, restored more than 32,000 square metres of coastline and collected almost five tonnes of waste.
