Baadhi ya wafanyakazi wa Benki ya Taifa ya Biashara (NBC) wakianza matembezi ya hisani ya takribani Kilomita 10 jijini Dar es Salaam jana ikiwa ni moja ya matukio ya benki hiyo kudhimisha Siku ya Moyo Duniani ambapo kiasi cha pesa watakachochangisha kitapelekwa katika Hospitali ya Taifa Muhimbili (MNH) kusaidia watoto na vijana wanaosumbuliwa na matatizo ya ugonjwa wa moyo. Siku ya Moyo Duniani huadhimishwa kimataifa Septemba 29 kila mwaka.

Hapa baadhi ya wafanyakazi hao wakipita katika barabara ya Ocean Road kulekea maeoneo ya Coco Beach wakitokea makao makuu ya beni hiyo katika Tawi la Corporate, Posta Mpya.

Hapa ni daraja la Salender, kwa moyo wa kujitolea wafanyakazi hawa wa NBC wakiendelea na matembezi hayo ili kupata fedha kusaidia watoto na vijana wanaosumbuliwa na magonjwa ya moyo.

Safari inaendelea, hapa baadhi ya wafanyakazi hao wakikaribia kufika mwisho wa matembezi yao hapa ikiwa ni Barabara ya Kenyatta wakielekea Coco Beach.

Hapa wakiwa katika shangwe baada ya kumaliza matembezi hayo kutoka katikati ya Jiji la Dar es Salaam hadi maeneo ya Coco Beach kama umbali wa kilomita 10.

Baada ya kumaliza matembezi hayo wafanyakazi hao wakipiga picha ya pamoja kuonyesha ushindi na mshikamano wao katika kusaidia watoto na vijana wanaosumbuliwa na matatizo ya magonjwa ya moyo.

CNN is sometimes referred to as CNN/U.S. to distinguish the American channel from its international sister network, CNN International.

TANZANIA MORTGAGE REFINANCE CO. LTD. EXTENDS LOANS WORTH SH34 BILLION TO MEMBER BANKS FOR MORTGAGE FINANCING

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania Mortgage Refinance Company Limited (TMRC) - a private sector institution owned by the banks with sole purpose of supporting banks to do mortgage lending - has extended Sh34 billion worth of loans to its members during the past three years.

“To date CRDB, Azania Bank, Bank of Africa, Exim Bank, BancABC, I&M Bank and DCB Commercial Bank have borrowed from TMRC,” the TMRC Chief Executive Officer, Mr Oscar Mgaya, said in Dar es Salaam recently.

These banks which are also shareholders of Tanzania Mortgage Refinance Company Limited (TMRC) seek to make mortgaging easy, a move meant to help the country’s citizens buy or build affordable and decent housing units.

BLUE PEARL HOTEL CLOSED

Dar es Salaam. Services at the Blue Pearl Hotel in Dar es Salaam’s Ubungo suburb have been affected after the owner of the business allegedly failed to pay rent amounting to about Sh6 billion ($3,800,000).

Yesterday afternoon officials from Majembe Auction Mart arrived at the hotel and started taking out furniture and packing them into a lorry.

Customers were told to vacate the hotel premises because it had been closed down and services were no longer being provided.

The executive director of Majembe Auction Mart, Mr Seth Motto, said his organisation was called into action after the management of Ubungo Plaza Ltd, which is the owner of the building, assigned them to carry out the operation.

NINON MARAPACHI, 32: TANZANIA'S OWN HEDGE FUND WUNDERKIND

Ninon Marapachi is a Tanzanian trailblazer whose career in finance is an inspiring story.

At only 32, she is the Managing Director of a $20 billion (Sh32 trillion) Hedge Fund called Merrill Lynch of the Bank of America-Global Wealth and Investment Management, in New York.

She manages a 10-member team that is charged with sourcing, structuring, negotiating and managing the Fund that is nearly twice Tanzania’s budget for the current financial year.

She shared her success story in an email interview with The Citizen on Saturday:

QUESTION: Tell us the story of how you find yourself where you are

ANSWER: I became competitive from my early school days and was determined to get what I set my eyes on.

I believed everything was possible but most importantly I set and worked towards achieving my goals along the way.

I studied at Muhimbili Primary School and Jangwani Secondary School and finished among the top 10 candidates countrywide.

INVESTOR PLANS TO BUILD SH10 BILLION HOTEL IN MTWARA

Dar es Salaam. Colom Investment (T) Limited plans to invest upwards of $6 million (about Sh9.9 billion) to build an executive hotel in Mtwara as it expands its footprints in Tanzania.

Upon its completion in September 2015, the hotel – to be known as C Terra Mtwara - will employ 100 people.

The US company also runs Nashera Hotel in Morogoro while its other product, the C Terra Dodoma, is under construction in the political capita.

The statement quotes the Colom Investment Vice President for Development Dr Gaidi Faraj, as saying that C Terra Hotel Mtwara will be a business class hotel with 75 rooms, including 14 suites.

CONSTRUCTION OF NAIROBI'S TALLEST TOWER NOW AWAITS COURT'S APPROVAL

Construction of Hazina Trade Centre into what is to be Nairobi’s tallest tower has been stalled, pending a court ruling to be made this week. The project was being undertaken by the National social Security Fund (NSSF) at a cost of US$ 75m.

The construction project had been challenged by Nakumatt Holdings, whose Nakumatt Lifestyle branch is housed in the current building. NSSF owns the Hazina Trade Centre. This is after the supermarket obtained temporary orders halting construction works, claiming US$ 18m as compensation for business losses. This is after construction works on the to be Nairobi’s tallest tower or building had commenced in December last year. They also wanted the court to suspend construction works until 2023, when their lease term of the building will expire.

TANZANIAN-BASED LOW-COST FLYER LINKS ENTEBBE

KARIBU: Passengers disembark from the inaugural flight at Entebbe, which fastjet plan to become twice weekly.

ENTEBBE, Uganda - Tanzania based low- cost airline, fastjet, last week launched its services in Uganda writes.

fastjet, which launched its services in Tanzania about two years ago, has been in talks with the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to introduce flights to Uganda.

It operates a fleet of distinctively branded Airbus A319s. The Entebbe landing last week, was fastjet’s fourth international route after already having launched flights to Johannesburg, Lusaka and Harare. It is based at the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam.

“We hope to open up new routes to Juba (South Sudan), Mombasa and the Comoros Islands,” Jai Gilbert, the fastjet Head of Marketing at Entebbe Airport said at Entebbe International Airport.

KENYA TO CONSTRUCT THE LARGEST CONVENTION CENTRE IN AFRICA AT $561 MILLION

The Bomas of Kenya: Kenya is set to construct the largest convention centre in Africa at the site, beginning next year.

Kenya has unveiled plans to construct the largest convention centre in Africa as announced by the Ministry of Tourism, in a move to capitalize on convention tourism. The center will be constructed at a cost of US$ 561m. Construction works for the project has been slotted for next year, and the funds will be made available through a public-private partnership program (PPP).

The new development will be called the Bomas International Conference and Exhibition Centre. It will consist of presidential and VIP pavilions, coffee shops, five luxury hotels with 2,000 bed capacity, conference centre with a capacity of hosting 10,000 delegates in one sitting, 15,000 exhibition space, business centers as well as other social amenities.

Huo ni mwendelezo wa Benki katika kuchangia huduma za kijamii kwa njia ya kurudisha sehemu ya faida inayopatikana kwa wananchi na kuifanya benki ya NMB kuwa karibu zaidi na watanzania.
