EQUITY WAITARA TROPHY 2026 CONNECTS GOLF, RELATIONSHIPS AND FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITIES

DAR ES SALAAM, 19 September 2026: Equity Bank Tanzania continues to strengthen long-term relationships with customers through platforms that bring together sport, lifestyle, networking and financial opportunities, following the successful staging of the Equity Waitara Trophy 2026 at TPDF Lugalo Golf Club in Dar es Salaam.

The tournament brought together golfers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals and invited guests for a day that combined competitive golf with relationship building and engagement around financial solutions.

Held under the theme “Elevate Your Game,” the tournament provided Equity Bank Tanzania with an opportunity to connect with the golfing community while showcasing its Premium Banking proposition, with the Equity Mastercard Black forming part of a suite of solutions designed to meet customers’ lifestyle, business, investment and financial needs.

Through its Premium Banking proposition, eligible customers can access selected Priority Lounges at international airports, 24-hour Mobile Banking and Internet Banking services, financial advisory and investment solutions, preferential financing terms for homes, plots, vehicles and other assets, and access to premium banking centres across Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The proposition also includes insurance solutions for individuals, families and businesses, as well as invitations to selected networking and lifestyle events.

The tournament started at 6:30 AM and continued until 5:00 PM, followed by verification of results and the presentation of awards to the winners.

Beyond the competition, participants had an opportunity to build networks and engage with the Equity Bank Tanzania team to learn more about financial solutions designed to support business growth, investments, asset ownership, insurance and long-term financial planning.

For Equity Bank Tanzania, the Equity Waitara Trophy is also a platform for deeper engagement with customers and members of the golf community, enabling the Bank to better understand their financial needs and connect them with relevant solutions.

The Waitara Trophy is held annually in honour of Retired General George Waitara, founder of TPDF Lugalo Golf Club. The tournament has continued to feature on Tanzania’s golf calendar, bringing together players and stakeholders from different sectors.
