AfDB DISCUSSES POTENTIAL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES AND PARTNERSHIPS DURING THE MDB GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT FUND PROJECT PLAZA IN KOREA
The African Development Bank presented the Bank’s procurement framework and several Bank projects at the MDB Global Development Fund Project Plaza in Seoul, Korea, on September 22-24, 2015. Information and updates on the Bank’s ongoing review of its procurement policy, business opportunities, and tips for successful bidding were presented by Mukul Kumar, Chief Regional Procurement Coordinator from the Bank’s Procurement and Fiduciary Services Department.
Amadou Oumarou, Director of the AfDB’s Transport and Information and Communications Technology Department, explained the transportation development challenges in African and offered suggestions for business opportunities and areas of cooperation for participants from the private sector in Korea.
Audrey Rojkoff, Portfolio Data Analyst in the Energy, Environment and Climate Change Department, delivered a presentation on the energy, environment and climate change operations undertaken at the African Development Bank. On Day 2 of the forum, members of the AfDB delegation held one-to-one meetings and consultations with private Korean companies.
The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency has organized this annual event since 2008. This year’s meeting was also hosted by the Korean Ministry of Strategy and Finance and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. About 300 participants, including representatives from multilateral development banks, regional development finance institutions and foreign sovereign wealth funds attended the event.
The AfDB Executive Director for Korea, Hau Sing Tse; Tadashi Yokoyama, Head of the Bank’s External Representation Office for Asia; and Valerie Dabady, Division Manager of Resource Mobilization for Non-Sovereign and International Institutions actively participated in the forum.
