ABSA BANK HONORED WITH NBAA’S BEST PRESENTED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AWARD

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania — Absa Bank Tanzania has been recognized for its excellence in financial reporting after securing second place in the Medium-Sized Banks category at the 2024 Best Presented Financial Statements Awards, organized by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).

The prestigious accolade highlights the bank’s commitment to transparency, strong governance, and adherence to top-tier reporting standards—key pillars that continue to strengthen stakeholder trust and reinforce the bank's leadership in the financial sector.

During the award ceremony held recently in Dar es Salaam, the Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Mr. Laurent Luswetila, presented the award to Mr. Stivin Augustino, Head of Business Performance and Analytics, and Mr. Muhsin Kaye, Financial Controller at Absa Bank Tanzania. The moment underscored the institution’s dedication to producing high-quality financial statements that reflect accuracy, accountability, and clarity in line with NBAA guidelines.

Also present during the presentation was NBAA Executive Director, CPA Pius Maneno, who commended all participating institutions for upholding high reporting standards that support financial sector stability and transparency.

In a separate moment during the ceremony, Mr. Muhsin Kaye received the award on behalf of the bank and was congratulated by NBAA Board Chairperson, CPA Prof. Sylvia Temu, reaffirming Absa’s continued commitment to excellence in financial management and disclosure.

Speaking after the event, Absa representatives noted that the recognition serves as a motivation for the bank to continue enhancing its financial reporting processes, strengthening compliance, and ensuring that all stakeholders—including customers, regulators, and partners—receive credible and reliable financial information.

The event concluded with a group photo featuring the 2024 award winners in the Medium-Sized Banks category, with Absa Bank Tanzania well represented among the top performers.

This achievement adds to Absa’s growing list of accolades and underscores its role as a forward-looking financial institution committed to delivering value through transparency, disciplined performance, and stakeholder-centered reporting.
