Santa Claus came early for Dar es Salaam resident Dr. Dennis Rwegasira who won a Christmas gift of a lifetime after securing 100 Million Shillings during the grand draw for NMB Bank’s ‘Bonge la Mpango’ campaign held in Dar es Salaam recently.

The three-month deposit and mobilization campaign ran under the slogan “Mchongo Nd’o Huu” and was part of NMB Bank’s concerted efforts to promote the culture of savings amongst Tanzanians.

Speaking shortly before the draw, the NMB Bank Chief Retail Officer Filbert Mponzi reiterated the bank’s commitment to continue playing a leading role in promoting the financial inclusion agenda.

Our campaign not only helped to promote a savings culture but also drive financial inclusion across Tanzania. As a bank, we are committed to bridging the unbanked gap. Apparently, we have an NMB Pesa account that can be opened with only 10,000/-,” Mponzi stressed.

He noted that the campaign aimed at rewarding the bank’s new and existing customers for their unwavering loyalty and patronage.

I am glad to announce that our ‘Bonge la Mpango’ campaign has finally come to an end today. All Tanzanians had a chance to participate and win fabulous prizes including smart televisions, washing machines, gas cookers, refrigerators, power tillers, three-wheeler sand cash prizes ranging from 100,000/- to 5m/-, during weekly and monthly draws” he said.

He added, “A lucky customer will today win 100m/- during the final draw and this cash will be deposited in his or her bank account within 48 hours,” he added.

He urged the customers to continue embracing various propositions offered by NMB Bank including the ‘Wekeza’ account that offers an interest rate of up to 12 percent payable every after six months.

Speaking shortly after emerging 100m/- winner for the “Bonge La Mpango” campaign, Dr. Dennis Rwegasira commended the bank for coming up with the campaign.

At first, I thought the news was a hoax since I had not subscribed to any lottery in recent days. I have been a loyal customer for NMB Bank for so many years and am grateful that my loyalty has finally paid off,” he stressed.

He commended the bank for its extensive branch coverage across the country urging that the bank’s efforts have helped take banking services right at grassroots level.

On her part, the Gaming Board of Tanzania representative Lucy Katamba during the event noted that the draw was held with adherence to the set standards.
