GGML EMPLOYEES EMBARK ON INAUGURAL HEALTH WALK

As Tanzanian enter the third week of October, in observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, Geita Gold Mining Limited(GGML) Managing Director, Terry Strong led the way, as GGML employees embarked on the health walk.


GGML took a significant step towards improving wellbeing with the inaugural Health Walk in order to reminde of the profound significance of wellbeing in everyday lives.


Led by GGML's Managing Director, Terry Strong, a group of GGML employees embarked on a journey of physical and mental wellbeing.


Under the clear Tanzanian skies, the Health Walk was a fun and interactive way to promote physical activity, social connection and mental wellbeing among staff, fostering camaraderie and embracing the rejuvenating power of nature.

More than 30 GGML employees and contractors also took part in the walk, which covered a distance of 5 kilometres around the mine site.

Emphasise during the walking, Strong says AngloGold Ashanti - Geita Gold Mining Limited (GGML) has always prioritised the wellbeing of its employees.

He said “This month, as we renew our dedication to establishing a workplace where everyone is valued, engaged and mentally resilient, we take pride in participating in this worldwide movement and endorsing the mental wellbeing of our employees.

Strong, summed up GGML's commitment to mental health when he said: "Mental health affects a lot of people; it's a very important issue and I'm delighted to be here to support it. I wish all of you and your families well and encourage you to look after your mental health".

These words resonate deeply within our organisation and inspire us to take meaningful initiatives.
