VIVO ENERGY BRINGS SHELL LUBRICANTS BACK TO TANZANIA

Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, 10th November 2021 - Vivo Energy, the Pan-African retailer and marketer of Shell lubricants and Engen-branded fuels, has officially launched Shell lubricants in the Tanzanian market.

During the launch Kemilembe Kafanabo Commercial Manager – Petroleum at Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) commended Vivo Energy Tanzania’s efforts for making available and distributing of the high quality products that are beneficial to the public and community aiming not only to increasing the performance of vehicles and other machineries but also it safeguards the environment by using natural gas in production of lubricants that are good for the environment and vehicles.

Also , Commenting on the day of the launch, Mrs. Khady Sene, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Tanzania said ‘In line with our goal to be the most respected energy business in Africa, we are committed to delivering high quality products in the country. This is why we have chosen to partner with the world’s number one lubricant company in the world - Shell.

Vivo Energy’s Central Technical Manager, Fred Omondi went further to explain and said Shell Lubricants offer African customers the same high levels of engine protection, performance and efficiency found elsewhere’ In Tanzania we offer three sub-brands, Shell Rimula for truck heavy-duty engines, Shell Helix for passenger cars and Shell Advance for motorcycle engines.

“As EWURA, we are keen to see that lubricants that are distributed in the country meet the specified standards. By doing so, we protect the interest of both consumers and efficient suppliers. To ensure products that are distributed meet the required standards, EWURA is planning to start registering all lubricants that are distributed in the country.This also includes registering Vivo that has been authorized to distribute Shell lubricants” said the Commercial Manager for EWURA- Kemilembe Kafanabo.

She added “These measures are expected to curb distribution of counterfeits in the country”

It was stated that EWURA is ready to work hand in hand with operators including Vivo Energy to further improve the lubricant business environment and ensure that the community investments are protected while also ensuring that consumers have access to products that meet the required standards.
