UNITED BANK FOR AFRICA (UBA) SUPPORTS KISARAWE RESIDENT WHO GAVE BIRTH TO COJOINED TWINS

Kisarawe District Commissioner, Jokate Mwegelo (right) receives a gift from United Bank for Africa's (UBA) Managing Director and CEO for Tanzania, Usman Isiaka, after visiting the bank in Dar es Salaam late last week. She went there to show the Government's appreciation to the UBA Management for its support to a Kisarawe resident, Esther Simon, who gave birth to conjoined twins recently. The twins have since been separated at Muhimbili National Hospital. The bank has further promised to renovate Esther's house and pay for insurance cover for the twins for 10 years. Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa Benki ya CRDB, Abdulmajid Nsekela wiki iliyopita aliendelea na ziara yake ya kutembelea Viongozi wa Taasisi mbalimbali za Serikali ikiwa ni muendelezo wa ziara zake za kujitambulisha rasmi na kuboresha mahusiano baina ya Benki ya CRDB na taasisi hizo.

Katika mikutano tofauti iliyofanyika siku ya Jumanne, Jumatano na Alhamisi wiki iliyopita, Nsekela alimtembelea Mkuu wa Majeshi ya Ulinzi nchini, Jenerali Venance Mabeyo, Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa Mamlaka ya Kuzuia na Kupambana na Rushwa nchini, Kamishna Diwani Athumani na Kamishna Mkuu wa Mamlaka ya Kuzuia na Kupambana na Dawa za Kulevya, Rogers Siang’a.

Pamoja na kufanya utambulisho rasmi kwa viongozi hao, Nsekela ambaye aliambatana na Mwenyekiti wa Bodi ya Wakurugenzi wa Benki hiyo, Ally Laay na Maofisa wengine, alitumia pia nafasi hiyo kuwaelezea viongozi hao juu mikakati yake ya kuipeleka mbele zaidi Benki ya CRDB na kuomba ushirikiano zaidi wa kibiashara kutoka kwa viongozi hao na taasisi wanazoziongoza.

Kwa upande wao viongozi hao waandamizi, pamoja na kumpongeza Nsekela kwa uteuzi huo mkubwa, walimuahidi kumpa ushirikiano na kumhakikishia kuwa wako tayari kuendelea kuwa wadau wakubwa wa Benki ya CRDB katika mikakati yake ya kibiashara.

Viongozi hao pia walipongeza sana jitahada za Benki ya CRDB katika kusaidia juhudi za Serikali ya awamu ya tano inayoongozwa na Rais Dkt. John Pombe Magufuli, zenye kulenga kuleta mapinduzi ya kiuchumi kwa kujenga Tanzania yenye uchumi wa Kati unaoshamirishwa na viwanda.

AFRICA INVESTMENT FORUM: ALL SET TO TILT THE TIDE OF INVESTMENTS INTO AFRICA


Forum to advance projects to bankable stages, raise capital, and accelerate financial closure of deals


The Africa Investment Forum kicked off on Monday with a media briefing in the South African capital. The game changing event, aimed at attracting multi-billion-dollar deals across the continent, is set to usher in a new era for Africa’s investment landscape.

Regional and global investors and institutional investors, private sector leaders, prominent government officials, and representatives of State are converging in South Africa, for what is billed as an unprecedented gathering to mobilize and crowd in global investment capital for the continent’s ambitious development agenda.

Dubbed by the African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina as the “collective deal of the century for investment in and the development of Africa,” the forum will focus on advancing projects to bankable stages, raising capital and accelerating the financial closure of deals.

“This is the beginning of a new conversation, a new way of doing things,” Victor Oladokun, the African Development Bank Director of Communications told reporters, a day before the Forum, which will be held at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg.

UGANDA’S KAMPALA-JINJA EXPRESSWAY PROJECT APPROVED BY AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK


The African Development Bank has approved a sovereign loan of US$229.5 million to the Republic of Uganda to finance phase one of the Kampala-Jinja Expressway project. The financing will reinforce Uganda’s position as a regional transit hub, supporting its ambition to propel its economy into middle-income status by 2020.

Approved by the Board of the African Development Bank on Wednesday, 31 October 2018, the loan supports the Government’s Vision 2040 agenda. It will co-finance, with the European Union and Agence Francaise de Developpment, $400 million which will pave the way for private sector financing of the remaining $800 million.

The financing will support Uganda’s second National Development Plan 2015-2020, which aims to strengthen the country’s competitiveness for sustainable wealth creation, inclusive growth and jobs creation. Uganda’s road rehabilitation plans are anchored on its 15-year National Transport Master Plan (NTMP 2008-2023), aimed at facilitating efficient movement of passengers and freight across the country to support growth objectives.

2018 AFRICAN ECONOMIC CONFERENCE TO FOCUS ON INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO IMPEDIMENTS TO AFRICA’S REGIONAL AND CONTINENTAL INTEGRATION

The 2018 African Economic Conference (AEC) will take place at the Kigali Marriott Hotel, KN 3 Avenue, District de Nyarugenge, Conference Center, in Kigali, Rwanda from December 3-5, 2018, on the theme: Regional and Continental Integration for Africa’s Development.
The Conference, jointly organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will offer a unique avenue for researchers, policymakers and development practitioners to debate and build knowledge on solutions for continental integration. 
Discussions will focus on innovative solutions to impediments to Africa’s regional and continental integration.
The main objective of 2018 edition is to promote knowledge management as an important driver of policy dialogue that promotes the exchange of ideas and innovative thinking among researchers, development practitioners and policymakers. It will provide an opportunity for young African researchers, Africans in the diaspora and regional and sub regional organizations to disseminate their research findings and share information with African policymakers on the work that they do in the region. 
The 2017 African Economic Conference was held in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia December 4-6 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, focusing on how African countries could achieve structural transformation through governance. The 2017 AEC had about 400 attendees.

ALL SET FOR AFRICA’S FIRST INVESTMENT MARKETPLACE − THE AFRICA INVESTMENT FORUM, AN INITIATIVE OF THE AFRICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK


The African Development Bank’s Africa Investment Forum (AIF), a game changer for financing Africa’s infrastructure development, is scheduled to take place at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa from November 7-9, 2018
Although brimming with investment opportunities, there is an urgent need to bridge the gap between Africa’s available capital and bankable projects. Financing Africa’s development needs will require an estimated US $600-700 billion per annum. Of this, about US $130-170 billion a year is needed for infrastructure, according to the African Development Bank’s African Economic Outlook 2018.
The Bank is working with other multi-lateral development partners and stakeholders to ensure that the Africa Investment Forum becomes Africa’s key springboard for investment and for meeting the continent’s massive infrastructure and development needs. 
The Africa Investment Forum, an innovative investment marketplace will bring together project sponsors, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, private investors, policy makers, private equity firms, and heads of government to raise capital to advance Africa’s economic transformation agenda.
The Forum will be 100% transaction-based. The focus is on structuring deals, screening and enhancing projects, attracting co-investors, and facilitating transactions to unlock Africa’s multi-billion dollar investment opportunities.

  • Fixed depositors to get up to 14% interest Upfront!
1st November 1st 2018 - BancABC Tanzania, which is part of Atlas Mara, a London listed entity has made yet another ground breaking move in the market by launching a special season gift to all its customers a move aimed at offering customers the best interest returns on their money this festive season.

The special festive season gift will see all fixed depositors get up to 14 percent interest upfront from today, November 1st up to 31st December this year.

Speaking yesterday in Dar es Salaam during an event to announce the move, the BancABC Tanzania Head of Retail and Business Banking Joyce Malai said the bank has decided to introduce attractive interest to customers who will be opening fixed deposit accounts during November and December and will be paid interest upfront as a gift to use for their needs during this festival season while their principal amounts will remain secure until maturity.

However, Malai said that a customer will have a freedom to choose whether to get paid his interest upfront or on monthly basis. It’s not a must for a customer to get interest upfront. They will have the freedom to choose whether upfront, monthly basis or at the end of depositors maturity. In addition, a customer can borrow upto 8 percentage of his deposits

Alisema NMB ndio benki pekee yenye idadi kubwa ya mawakala zaidi ya 6,000 ambao hutoa huduma nchi nzima huku ikiwa na matawi 228 na mashine za ATM zaidi 800 lengo likiwa kusogeza huduma kwa wateja wake.
