The 2018 African Economic Conference (AEC) will take place at the Kigali Marriott Hotel, KN 3 Avenue, District de Nyarugenge, Conference Center, in Kigali, Rwanda from December 3-5, 2018, on the theme: Regional and Continental Integration for Africa’s Development.
The Conference, jointly organized by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will offer a unique avenue for researchers, policymakers and development practitioners to debate and build knowledge on solutions for continental integration.
Discussions will focus on innovative solutions to impediments to Africa’s regional and continental integration.
The main objective of 2018 edition is to promote knowledge management as an important driver of policy dialogue that promotes the exchange of ideas and innovative thinking among researchers, development practitioners and policymakers. It will provide an opportunity for young African researchers, Africans in the diaspora and regional and sub regional organizations to disseminate their research findings and share information with African policymakers on the work that they do in the region.
The 2017 African Economic Conference was held in Addis-Ababa, Ethiopia December 4-6 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, focusing on how African countries could achieve structural transformation through governance. The 2017 AEC had about 400 attendees.
