Dar es Salaam, 26 September 2025 – Ecobank Tanzania, a subsidiary of the Pan-African financial services leader, Ecobank Group, has launched an enhanced version of its award-winning ‘Ellevate by Ecobank’ program. The initiative aims to accelerate financial inclusion and economic empowerment for women entrepreneurs across all business segments in Tanzania.

BROADER SUPPORT FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

  • Lower entry barriers: Eligibility now requires only a two-year track record.
  • Competitive interest rates with favorable collateral requirements.
  • Market expansion: Access to the MyTradeHub online platform connecting businesses across Africa.
  • Capacity building: Training, leadership development, and industry knowledge webinars.
  • Financial security: Insurance, wealth management, and salary protection services.

STRONG COMMITMENT TO WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT

Dr. Charles Asiedu, Managing Director of Ecobank Tanzania, emphasized the program’s impact:

Since its launch in Tanzania, we have onboarded over 300 women entrepreneurs. This enhanced program reinforces our commitment to being the bank of choice for women entrepreneurs and strengthens our role in driving financial inclusion and economic empowerment across Africa.”

He further noted that Ecobank offers not only loans and deposit solutions, but also digital banking tools, payment systems, and access to new markets, alongside training programs that help women scale their businesses with confidence.
