AIRTEL AFRICA SIGNS STRATEGIC MULTI-YEAR PARTNERSHIP WITH XTELIFY TO ACCELERATE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

Africa, August 4, 2025 – Airtel Africa, a leading provider of telecommunications and mobile money services across 14 African countries, has entered into a multi-year, multi-million-dollar strategic partnership with Xtelify, the digital arm of Bharti Airtel India.

Under this landmark agreement, Airtel Africa will adopt Xtelify’s cutting-edge AI-powered software platforms to drive large-scale digital transformation, boost customer experience, and improve operational efficiency across its markets.

Transforming the Telco Landscape in Africa

Xtelify, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, unveiled a future-ready software platform designed to simplify telecom operations worldwide. The platform combines:

  • Converged Data Engine for AI-driven insights and intelligence at scale,
  • A Workforce Platform to streamline tasks in real time, and
  • An Experience Platform to manage the full customer journey seamlessly.

By deploying Xtelify's Data Engine, Work, and IQ platforms, Airtel Africa’s 150,000-strong field workforce will be empowered with advanced market insights and tools to execute hyper-local strategies. The solution also includes critical use cases such as spam and fraud protection—key concerns in today’s telecom environment.

The Xtelify IQ solution will provide secure, real-time, omnichannel customer engagement, greatly enhancing service delivery and customer satisfaction across the continent.

“This partnership marks a transformative leap in our mission to build Africa’s digital future. By harnessing Airtel’s AI platforms that have proven scale in India, we are simplifying operations and accelerating hyper-personalized experiences for our customers,” said Jacques Barkhuizen, Group Chief Information Officer, Airtel Africa. “This is Airtel leveraging Airtel—a powerful synergy for sustainable growth, innovation, and unmatched value across our 14 African markets.”

A Global Collaboration for Local Impact

Binod Srivastava, Chief Business Officer – Global Business, Bharti Airtel, remarked:

“We are thrilled to partner with Airtel Africa. By combining our innovative Xtelify platform with Airtel Africa’s vision, we aim to address the telecom industry’s biggest challenges, from reducing churn to combatting fraud, while delivering exceptional customer value.”

Airtel Cloud: A New Era in Cloud Technology

In addition to the software suite, Xtelify also launched Airtel Cloud – a sovereign, telco-grade cloud platform built to process up to 140 crore transactions per minute for Airtel India, and now being extended to meet the evolving digital infrastructure needs of businesses.

The cloud platform runs on next-generation sustainable data centres, powered by Gen-AI-based provisioning and managed by 300 certified cloud experts. Airtel Cloud offers IaaS, PaaS, and advanced connectivity solutions—promising secure migration, scalability, and zero vendor lock-ins.
