I’m so delighted and overwhelmed by showers of love and words of encouragement coming from you and from every angle. I thank you all for spending your quality time with us here today and I also wish to thank TPSF Secretariat for the excellent coordination and my special appreciation the Management of Yatch Club Yatch for allowing TPSF to host this event here.
We could not be here today if it was not for the EABC members who supported and for me voted me and my Colleagues Mr. Paul Makanza CTI Chairman, Dr Jackline Mkindi TAHA CEO and Ali Amour Zanzibar Chamber of Commerce President it has been a blessing to work with you.
I thank the EABC TZ Chapter who nominated my name. Special thanks to Dr. Nyantahe the former CTI Chairman and others who travelled with us all the way to Kigali to support us and my colleagues Mr. Paul Makanza, Dr. Mkindi, Ali Amour and TCCIA President Mr. Paul Koyi for the love and support. All these shows a very high degree of trust you have on me. Asanteni sana!
Invited Guests. One of my key assignments is to ensure that EABC remains a real partner in all spheres of the EAC integration process as the apex body of the Private Sector. However, this will require a collective effort from the entire membership and the business community. A lot of things have been achieved under the Previous EABC Body, but we still have tasks that still lie ahead of us, particularly effective business representation in high level EAC policy decision-making meetings on relevant cross-border trade and investment issues in the EAC Region.
As you all know EAC is the leading regional economic bloc in Africa and as Chair of EABC together with my Board we are committed to championing the implementation of the African Continental Free trade area. Together we will speak with one voice at the continental level.
I count on your support to work with you to realize the EABC Strategic pillars and we will ensure our structure is aligned to realize our mandate and vision of a borderless East Africa for business and investment.
