STANBIC BANK DONATES OXYGEN TANKS TO KCMC HOSPITAL

Stanbic Bank Tanzania Limited has donated 21 oxygen tanks worth approximately TZS 15 million to KCMC in its efforts to support the health sector in the country.

Stanbic Bank’s Head of Risk, Mr. Wilmot Ishengoma, handed over the oxygen tanks to the Kilimanjaro Regional Medical Officer, Dr Credianus Mgimba, who represented the Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner at a hand over ceremony held at the hospital.

“This donation is a mark of solidarity with our fellow Tanzanians, customers and the community-at-large. Medical oxygen is critical to our health and we are honoured to offer our support in making it available so that lives can be saved”, said Mr. Ishengoma.

The KCMC acting Executive Director, Dr. Stephen Kolimba commended Stanbic Bank Tanzania Limited for the donation, stating that it will reduce the deficit of the much needed gas cylinders at the hospital.

In receiving the donation, Dr. Mgimba thanked Stanbic Bank Tanzania, stating that the demand for medical services is continuously increasing, thus the need for continued support from stakeholders.

The handover of 21 oxygen tanks to KCMC, follows a donation of 7 oxygen tanks to Bugando Referral Hospital in Mwanza in October 2021. In Mwanza, the handover of the donation was done by Stanbic Bank’s Head of Technology and Operations, Mr. Mussa Ally, and received by the Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Eng. Robert Gabriel.

To-date, Stanbic Bank Tanzania has contributed over TZS 1 billion as part of its Corporate Social Investment, mainly in health and education sectors.
