ABSA BANK TANZANIA DONATES 20 WHEELCHAIRS TO SUPPORT DISABLED PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN FIVE REGIONS IN TANZANIA

Absa Bank Tanzania has donated 20 wheelchairs to 20 disabled primary school students in five regions in the country. The 20 wheelchairs are worth TZS 20 million and will be distributed accordingly to the regions - Morogoro (5), Dodoma (5), Iringa (2), Mbeya (3) and Zanzibar (5).

Speaking on behalf of the bank during the handover, Head of Marketing and Corporate Relations, Aron Luhanga said, “Our bank plays a big role in bringing the youth’s possibilities to life, as we ensure the same impact to the communities. In partnership with Ikupa Trust Fund (NGO), we are ending these students’ troubles of going to school daily and on time as they intend to achieve their educational goals and prosper in life”.

Mr. Luhanga also commented by saying that Absa Bank has a major role of being a force for good to the community and ensures that youth are highly supported considering there is a bright future instore for them. This is evident in the continuous support the bank has been offering to the community under the education and skills development pillar.

The bank’s Morogoro Branch Manager, Godfrey Chilewa also said, “the bank maintains a strong relationship with organizations such as Ikupa Trust Fund with purpose of bringing change to the community and providing support to the ongoing efforts the government still plays in developing the country from the regional level”.

Mr. Luhanga concluded by saying that Absa is a key role player in advancing several sectors in the country some of them being education, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, environment and social wellbeing. The bank ensures that every society investment is aligned with strengthening our relationship with the community and the government.
