ARUSHA, TANZANIA – 24 SEPTEMBER 2026: Stanbic Bank Tanzania will join more than 700 board chairpersons and chief executives from state-owned enterprises (SOEs), Government institutions and strategic stakeholders at the 2026 Chairpersons and CEOs Forum in Arusha.
Convened by the Office of the Treasury Registrar, the Forum will bring together senior Government leaders, SOEs, regulators, development partners, investors, academia and private-sector representatives to advance the contribution of state-owned enterprises and Government minority-owned companies to Tanzania’s competitiveness and the implementation of Dira 2050.
Stanbic Bank Tanzania is among the sponsors of the Forum, which will take place from 27 to 30 September 2026. The Bank’s support forms part of its long-term commitment to building deeper partnerships with Government institutions and SOEs, while supporting public institutions to strengthen performance, financial sustainability and delivery of national development priorities.
Supporting High-Performing SOEs
The Forum is being held under the theme, “High-Performing SOEs for a Competitive, Inclusive and Resilient Economy: Advancing Dira 2050.”
The gathering comes as reforms led by the Office of the Treasury Registrar continue to strengthen accountability, efficiency and financial sustainability across public institutions.
In the 2025/26 financial year, dividends and statutory contributions from SOEs and companies in which the Government holds minority shares increased by 30 per cent to a record TZS 1.33 trillion as of 29 June 2026.
Stanbic Bank believes that high-performing and financially sustainable SOEs are central to Tanzania’s development ambitions. Through investment mobilisation and the delivery of strategic public services and projects, SOEs play a critical role in sectors including infrastructure, energy, water, transport and digital transformation – all of which are important to the implementation of Dira 2050.
Partnering for Tanzania’s Development
Stanbic Bank’s support for the Forum reflects its long-standing commitment to Tanzania and its belief that achieving the objectives of Dira 2050 will require Government, public institutions, the private sector and financial institutions to work together.
The Bank aims to contribute as a trusted financial partner and strategic adviser to Government institutions and SOEs by supporting the mobilisation of capital, financing of strategic projects and efficient management of public-sector financial flows.
“State-owned enterprises remain at the centre of Tanzania’s development ambitions and play a critical role in delivering the country’s long-term economic vision,” said Ester Manase, Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Stanbic Bank Tanzania.
“At Stanbic, we are committed to supporting public institutions through strategic financing, transaction banking, capital raising and advisory solutions that help unlock sustainable growth and long-term value creation. We see ourselves not simply as a banking provider, but as a partner in Tanzania’s development journey.”
Manase added that the Forum has become an important national platform for strengthening collaboration among Government, SOEs and the private sector.
“The Office of the Treasury Registrar has built the Forum into an important national platform, and Stanbic is proud to support it. The Forum creates an opportunity for Government, SOE and private-sector leaders to strengthen partnerships, identify investment opportunities and agree practical actions that can accelerate delivery of national priorities under Dira 2050,” she said.
Focus on Investment, Sustainability and Digital Transformation
During the Forum, Stanbic Bank will participate in sessions and engage public-sector leaders on opportunities to strengthen SOE financial sustainability, unlock investment, deepen digital-government capabilities and accelerate strategic infrastructure projects.
The Bank will contribute perspectives on financing sustainable growth, strategic investment and collaboration between public institutions and the private sector.
Stanbic Bank’s participation also reflects a broader commitment to move beyond event visibility towards long-term relationship building, targeted engagement and practical solutions that can convert dialogue into sustainable value for SOEs, Government and the wider economy.
