Absa Bank Tanzania has scooped the most preferred International bank of the year award category at the 2nd year Tanzania Consumers Choice Awards (TCCA) which took place in Dar es Salaam over the weekend.
Absa Bank Tanzania was the main sponsor of this year’s Tanzania Consumers Choice Awards (TCCA), sponsoring TShs. 20 million to ensure that the event takes place at the right platform for consumers, business community and manufacturer's.
Speaking to the invited delegates at the official function in Dar es Salaam over the weekend, Absa Bank, Chief Finance Officer, Obedi Laiser said his bank recognized the importance of consumers in banking business, product rebranding and marketing strategies.
“This event is a clear testimony that consumers are satisfied with the services offered by different companies and services provided by small business people and tycoons’,
“it’s is our hope that this unique competitions will also invite companies from outside the country especially our neighbors in the East Africa region and eventually make it more competitive at the regional and international level,” he added.
He reiterated that the Absa will continue to support TCCA event as the right platform that will fueled and foster the industrialization drive which is championed by the fifth phase government under President Dr John Pombe Magufuli as industries are engine for economic growth in the country.
Laiser hailed the organizers of the TCCA award as it bring awareness to the consumers and service providers for them to improve the services and rebranding and introducing new products in the market to the satisfaction of the consumers.
This year TCCA award which was graced by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Exaud Silaoneka Kigahe who on behalf the government promised to continue work shoulder to shoulder with bankers, business community and services providers to ensure that there is more sound relations between them and the government.
“We will seat together and discuss challenges and charting the way forward and solutions that will ease business and investment opportunities in the country and the ultimate goal of achieving the industrial green revolution,” he noted.
He noted that the government is ready to work together with the private sector to ensure that its play its vital role in fostering social and economic development in the country.
Head of Marketing and Corporate Relations for Absa Bank Tanzania, Aron Luhanga the bank’s new vertical card marks the new era of the most unique product offered by the banks to its customers.
“Our new name, new products such vertical card and brand are an expression of our new purpose and strategic direction, which commits us to growing in Africa,” says Luhanga.
TCCA award is the second competition which brings together business people, bankers, service providers, designers and manufacturers. There were 43 categories Tour, travel, fashion, drinks, airline banks and male of CEO of the year.
