Exim Bank Tanzania has donated text books worth tsh 8,000,000/= to SINDE secondary school located at MWANJELWA Municipality in Mbeya region, in a bid to support the government in its goal to improve delivery of education services.

Speaking during a brief handover ceremony held at the school premises over the weekend, Exim Bank mbeya branch manager IDDY MWACHA said the donation is part of the firm’s efforts towards educational development in the country.

He said education is a vital sector in the country and the bank is devoted to compliment the government efforts in developing it.

“The gesture of our company is designed to complement the efforts of the government in providing necessary educational tools to enhance learning in all fields especially in the area of science education,” he said.

He said the availability of sufficient text books at the school will act as a catalyst in fulfilling the government ambition of delivering quality education.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr. SHADRACK MWAKASYAMA, who was visibly delighted, received the books on behalf of the school, and expressed his appreciation to the bank while also assuring that the textbooks would be effectively used and maintained in building future professionals for the nation.

He said the government alone could not manage to purchase all the needed books in schools and that donors’ support was welcomed.

“We are thankful for this donation as it will go a long way in enhancing the quality of education in our school and we are optimistic that students will now be able to excel in their subjects with the availability of sufficient learning facilities. I call upon other institutions to emulate this noble gesture,” he concluded.
