NMB Dar es Salaam Zonal Manager, Mr Salie Andrew Mlaya, said the bank was duty bound to support the community and has allocated more than 1.3bn/- for CSR during this financial year.
THE National Microfinance Bank (NMB) Plc has donated various medical supplies including delivery beds worth 10m/- in support of a health centre in Sinza area in Dar es Salaam.
The donation is part of the bank's corporate social responsibility (CSR) that focuses on health and education. "We are profoundly grateful for your support.
The donation will help to save lives of several mothers," Dr Benedict Luoga, the officer in-charge of the centre said at the presentation ceremony.
He said since the beginning of the month (July) the bank has donated various medical supplies, including delivery beds, worth 30m/- for maternal wards in hospitals in Same District, Kilimanjaro Region.
NMB is the country's leading bank with the largest network of 154 branches, over 500 ATMs and more than 2 million customers. The bank also offers internet banking and mobile phone based services in most parts of the country.
NMB is listed on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) and its shares were trading at 4,010/- each at the bourse on Wednesday.
