Local motorists can now buy two models of modern speedy car, Jaguar, after CMC Automobiles Limited, dealers of Land Rover introduced it officially in Tanzania on Thursday.
In a statement, CMC Automobiles Ltd said it has been awarded sole and exclusive importer rights for the Jaguar brand by Jaguar Land Rover sub-Sahara Africa (JLRSSA). CMC Automobiles and senior management officials of JLR SSA teamed up with almost 200 guests to launch the prestigious vehicle on Thursday.
“The event marks the first official availability of the Jaguar brand in Tanzania, and paves the way for innovative new Jaguar products which will come to market in the next two to five years,” CMC Automobiles said in the statement.
“The appointment of CMC Automobiles as custodian of the Jaguar brand is an exciting development for us, and we look forward to working closely with their team in the future.
Not only do they have the infrastructure and skills to look after such an iconic brand but they are already vastly experienced when it comes to selling and supporting vehicles in the Tanzanian market,” said Nigel Clarke, Operations Director of JLRSSA.
CMC Automobiles has represented Land Rover for six decades in Tanzania, turning it into one of the country’s most successful brands. Apart from Dar es Salaam, CMC owns other five outlets across the country and has two more appointed service outlets.
