National Microfinance Bank (NMB) has commended efforts by the Tanzania Police Force to suppress robbery attempt at the bank’s airport branch.
“Police had coordinated themselves and informed each other that there was a group of armed robbers heading towards the NMB Airport branch and that they should stay prepared,” said Mr Mark Wiessing, the NMB Chief Executive Officer in a statement.
He said a few minutes later, armed robbers arrived at the branch parking area and caused anxiety. However, no staff or customers were injured and NMB property remained safe.
Mr Wiessing added that “NMB works hand in hand with the Police Force to provide assurance of safety to its customers and staff at all of its over 150 branches throughout Tanzania.”
As a result of a strong police presence and vigilance in the immediate vicinity of NMB Airport branch the robbery attempt was prevented.
