NCBA BANK TANZANIA: POWERING THE NEXT STEP FOR CUSTOMERS’ AMBITIONS

NCBA Bank Tanzania Managing Director, Alex Mziray (left), and Raha Energies Director, Anand Barchha (right), sign a partnership agreement aimed at connecting customers with solar energy and battery storage solutions, supported by NCBA financing for eligible customers. The signing took place during the launch of Customer Service Week at NCBA’s Nyerere Branch on 5 October 2026, bringing the Bank’s “Ndoto Zako, Hatua Zetu” campaign to life.

Dar es Salaam; October 5, 2026 - A business owner sees an opportunity to increase production. A growing enterprise wants to serve more customers. A family is planning an investment to make its home better equipped for everyday life.

Different ambitions, but each brings a similar question: what will it take to move forward?

For customers considering an investment in energy solutions, the answer involves finding suitable equipment, understanding its value and identifying how to finance it. It is at this point—where ambition meets a practical decision—that a banking relationship can make a meaningful difference.

As NCBA Bank Tanzania launched Customer Service Week at its Nyerere Branch on October 5, the Bank placed that responsibility at the centre of the occasion. Alongside celebrating its customers, NCBA showcased its partnership with Raha Energies, connecting access to energy solutions with financing for eligible customers.

The partnership gives practical meaning to NCBA’s ongoing campaign, “Ndoto Zako, Hatua Zetu.” It demonstrates how the Bank is going the extra mile by looking beyond the immediate transaction to understand what customers are working towards—and what support could help them get there.

Listening Closely Enough to Act

Good customer service is experienced in everyday moments: a clear explanation, a timely response and a request followed through to completion. These moments build trust because they show customers that their needs matter.

Going the extra mile builds on that foundation. It requires a deeper understanding of the circumstances shaping a customer’s decisions.

For a business, those circumstances can include the need to maintain production, meet delivery commitments and manage operating costs. Energy is part of that equation. An investment in a suitable power solution may support broader plans for growth, but the customer must first assess the equipment and how to pay for it.

NCBA’s collaboration with Raha Energies brings relevant expertise and financial support into the same conversation.

Through its Raha Solar division, Raha Energies supplies solar energy and battery storage solutions, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), battery modules, inverters, solar panels and power stations.

The solutions serve residential, commercial and industrial needs, with suitability and costs assessed according to each customer’s requirements.

NCBA complements that offering with financing for qualifying customers seeking to acquire the assets, subject to credit assessment and approval.

For the customer, this creates a clearer path: understand the energy requirement, explore an appropriate solution and discuss the available financing.

Empowering Ambition Through Practical Support

“Ndoto Zako, Hatua Zetu” captures the shared responsibility at the heart of this relationship.

The dream belongs to the customer. It may be a stronger business, a better-equipped home or the capacity to pursue an opportunity that once felt beyond reach. NCBA’s contribution is to help customers identify and finance the steps that can advance those goals.

Speaking at the launch, NCBA Bank Tanzania Managing Director Alex Mziray linked the partnership directly to that commitment.

“Behind every business sits an ambition: to grow, serve customers better and build a stronger future. Through ‘Ndoto Zako, Hatua Zetu,’ we commit to taking meaningful steps alongside our customers. Our partnership with Raha Energies demonstrates this commitment by connecting businesses with power solutions and financing that can help them move forward,” he said.

That approach gives substance to the Bank’s philosophy of “Banking on Belief – Empowering Ambitions.” Belief in a customer’s potential becomes useful when it is accompanied by relevant expertise, informed guidance and access to finance.

The partnership also recognises that customers need choices suited to their circumstances. Energy requirements differ between a household, a commercial enterprise and a factory. Helping customers make an informed decision is therefore an important part of empowering them.

Raha Energies Director Anand Barchha described how the two organisations’ capabilities work together.

“We are pleased to work with NCBA to help businesses explore Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) suited to their operations. Bringing together our technical expertise and NCBA’s financing capabilities can help eligible customers take the next step towards addressing their power needs,” he said.

A Commitment That Continues Beyond Customer Service Week

The launch brought together NCBA leadership, invited customers from Raha Energies and members of the public. It offered a timely expression of what going the extra mile can look like: understanding a customer need and building a partnership that helps address it.

Its relevance extends beyond Customer Service Week.

Customers’ ambitions develop over time. A business expands, a household’s needs change, or a new investment becomes necessary. A strong banking relationship must be able to respond to those changes with the same attention and follow-through that customers expect in their daily interactions.

For NCBA, Customer Service Week is therefore both a celebration and a renewal of that responsibility.

Appreciation is expressed through the service customers receive, the opportunities the Bank helps them explore and the practical support available when they are ready to take their next step.

Customers interested in the energy solutions can engage Raha Energies for product information and consult NCBA on financing options and eligibility requirements.

Through this partnership, NCBA is giving its campaign promise a tangible role in customers’ lives—helping connect what they hope to achieve with the resources they need to begin.

Ndoto Zako, Hatua Zetu.
