DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania – NMB Bank has officially commenced full banking operations at its dedicated Saba Saba Branch pavilion within the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) grounds, providing exhibitors, traders, businesses and thousands of visitors with comprehensive banking services throughout the 2026 exhibition.
The fully operational branch, located at the junction of Mabalozi and Carnivore Streets (Plot 24C), will serve customers from June 28 to July 13, 2026, offering convenient access to a broad range of banking products and financial advisory services without requiring customers to leave the exhibition grounds.
The initiative reinforces NMB's commitment to bringing financial services closer to Tanzanians while supporting commercial activities during one of the country's largest annual trade exhibitions.
Comprehensive Banking Services at the Fair
The temporary branch functions like any permanent NMB outlet, providing customers with a full suite of banking services, including:
- Opening new bank accounts
- Cash deposits and withdrawals
- Government payments
- Insurance services
- Loan advisory and financing solutions
- Digital banking support
To further improve convenience, the branch is equipped with a cash deposit and withdrawal ATM, complemented by NMB banking agents strategically stationed across the exhibition grounds to facilitate seamless transactions.
Financial Literacy at the Heart of the Initiative
Beyond transactional banking, NMB is using the Saba Saba platform to promote financial inclusion through practical financial education.
Visitors are receiving guidance on budgeting, saving, responsible borrowing and the safe use of digital financial services, helping individuals and entrepreneurs make informed financial decisions while embracing modern banking technologies.
Bringing Banking Closer to Customers
Speaking during the commencement of operations, NMB Acting Dar es Salaam Zonal Manager William Nkuna said the decision to establish a fully operational banking branch at the exhibition reflects the bank's commitment to improving customer convenience and supporting economic activity during the trade fair.
"The NMB Saba Saba Branch is operating as a fully functional banking outlet throughout the exhibition. We have officially opened its services to the public so that residents, businesses and exhibitors can access banking services, financial education and professional guidance," said Mr. Nkuna.
He noted that specialists from various business units are available to advise customers on financing solutions for businesses, agriculture and construction, alongside insurance products, account opening services and digital banking innovations.
Expanding Access Through Digital Banking
The bank is also showcasing several of its digital banking solutions, including the NMB Mkononi Super App, NMB Tap to Pay, and NMB UmeBIMA, demonstrating how technology is making banking faster, safer and more accessible.
According to Mr. Nkuna, eligible individual customers can instantly access unsecured digital loans of up to TZS 2 million, while qualifying business customers can obtain digital financing of up to TZS 5 million directly through their mobile phones without collateral or the need to visit another banking branch.
The digital lending solutions are designed to improve access to working capital for entrepreneurs and provide quick financial support for personal needs.
More Than a Decade Supporting Saba Saba
NMB has participated in the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair for more than ten consecutive years, but this year's presence marks a significant milestone with the introduction of full banking operations throughout the exhibition period.
By combining banking services, financial literacy, digital innovation and business advisory under one roof, the bank aims to simplify financial transactions for exhibitors and visitors while promoting the adoption of secure and formal financial services.
As thousands of businesses and consumers converge at Saba Saba, NMB's fully operational branch is expected to play a vital role in facilitating commerce, supporting entrepreneurs and advancing Tanzania's broader financial inclusion agenda.
