Arusha, Tanzania – 7 March 2026: KCB Bank Tanzania, led by its Managing Director, Cosmas Kimario (first right), participated in the East African Community (EAC) Heads of State Summit held in Arusha on 7 March 2026.

During the summit, discussions focused on key areas including the development of digital financial services, the expansion of regional capital markets, and initiatives aimed at strengthening cross-border trade among EAC member states.
A major highlight of the event was the launch of the EAC Customs Bond, a strategic initiative designed to streamline customs procedures and simplify business operations for traders operating within the East African Community.
The introduction of the regional customs bond is expected to enhance efficiency in cross-border trade by reducing administrative barriers and supporting smoother movement of goods across member countries.
