Dar es Salaam — Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) has joined forces with the Eastern Africa Grain Council (EAGC) to enhance its "Shamba ni Mali" initiative, a flagship program aimed at empowering farmers across Tanzania.
The partnership seeks to boost market access, commercialization, and productivity for smallholder farmers, while connecting them to regional trade networks, digital platforms, and agro-input suppliers.
Speaking about the collaboration, John Wanyancha, SBL’s Corporate Relations Director, said the partnership will empower farmers with the knowledge, networks, and resources needed to scale their operations sustainably.
On his part, Gerald Masila, Managing Director of EAGC, emphasized that private sector partnerships such as this are crucial to transforming agriculture and unlocking new avenues for economic growth.
Through this collaboration, Tanzanian farmers are better positioned to access competitive markets, adopt modern farming practices, and contribute to a thriving and resilient agricultural sector.
