CRDB BANK TARGETS 40% GROWTH IN ONLINE ENTREPRENEUR TRAINING THROUGH INSTAPRENYUA SEMINAR

DAR ES SALAAM: CRDB Bank is aiming for a 40 per cent increase in the number of online entrepreneurs trained through its flagship Instaprenyua seminar, as part of its broader mission to equip digital business owners with critical skills and growth opportunities.

The bank, one of Tanzania’s leading financial institutions, announced that the fourth season of the seminar targets training 700 online entrepreneurs—up from 500 trained during the third season.

CRDB’s Acting Director of Retail and SME Banking, Muhumuliza Buberwa, said the program will focus on key areas such as online business information security and the adoption of modern digital payment solutions.

“Today, thousands of Tanzanians are earning an income through online businesses. Transactions worth billions of shillings are completed daily through digital platforms,” Mr Buberwa told reporters on Monday.

Launched in 2022, the Instaprenyua seminar has already empowered over 3,000 entrepreneurs with skills in leveraging social media platforms, securing digital transactions, and accessing modern payment systems.

Mr Buberwa emphasized that CRDB recognises the growing importance of online business in Tanzania’s economy and sees it as crucial to support these entrepreneurs with both knowledge and access to banking and social opportunities.

“The seminar is designed to equip participants with practical digital business skills and link them to new markets and funding opportunities,” he said.

This year’s edition has been refreshed to reflect the evolving landscape of online business. Participants will benefit from interactive sessions led by experts in digital commerce, fintech, and e-marketing.

New stakeholders from industries such as product delivery, digital marketing, payment services, and innovative business financing will also engage with participants—sharing opportunities and best practices for scaling up their ventures.

CRDB Bank’s Head of Marketing, Joseline Kamuhanda, noted that attendees will hear from successful alumni of the program who have gone on to build notable online brands.

“These real-life success stories serve as powerful motivation for emerging entrepreneurs and stand as proof that the goals of Instaprenyua are being realised,” said Ms Kamuhanda.

“CRDB Bank stands shoulder to shoulder with all Tanzanians striving to improve their livelihoods through technology.”
