STANBIC DONATES AID WORTH 10MN/- TO HANANG VICTIMS


Stanbic Bank has donated food items worth Ten Million Shillings to aid victims of the mudslide disaster in Hanang district, Manyara region.


Speaking after the handover of the items, Head of Personal and Private Banking, Omari Mtiga, ‘The donation is in support of the people of Hanang after being hit by the mudslides.


Our contribution renders to support the displaced people as part of our responsibility to our communities but also responds to the urgent call made by our Honorable President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan post the tragedy that struck the region in the early morning hours of December 03, 2023,” said Mtiga.


Mtiga mentioned that the food items handed over include flour, rice, beans, and cooking oil which collectively amounting to Ten Million Shillings.

On his part, Hanang District Council Director, Francis Namaumbo, thanked the bank for its support where he assured the lender that the government will fully supervise the distribution of the food items reach the victims as required.

“On behalf of the people of Hanang district, I would to extend my sincerest gratitude to Stanbic bank for the support it has shown to the government and the residents of Katesh town as efforts are still ongoing to restore the town back to normal. We also pledge to ensure this donation is properly handled and distributed to the surviving victims of this dreadful disaster,” said Namaumbo.

The leaders of the bank also paid a visit to areas where the horrific disaster caused most damage and spent time comforting some of the affected families.

Stanbic Bank Tanzania believes in working closely with the local communities on initiatives that drive impact in their lives and the economy at large.
