TPB Bank is set to change its name to Tanzania Commercial Bank (TCB) next Wednesday to open a new era for the banking industry in the country.
The lender, which in recent years acquired several poorly performing banks, weathered difficult times, including the Covid-19 pandemic, to post a pre-tax profit of TShs. 21 billion last year.
The TPB Bank Board Chairman, Dr. Edmund Mndolwa told members at the Annual General Meeting held in Dar es Salaam recently that the name change would reflect the true picture of the back currently.
