BUDGET 2021/2022 - EXPECTATIONS RIDING HIGH

Finance and Planning Minister, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba.

All eyes and ears will be tuned to the country's capital Dodoma today, as Finance and Planning Minister, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba tables the first budget under President Samia Suluhu Hassan's administration.

The ambitious TShs 36.26 trillion budget is expected to mainly focus on the implementation of strategic development projects as well as propelling the industrial economy and poverty reduction agendas.

While various economic reforms implemented by the government in the 2020/2021 fiscal year have kept the economy afloat, the budget 2021/2022 is also envisaged to lift and give an impetus to the economy.
