- Precision Air affirms 01st of July launch date for Entebbe
Precision Air’s Commercial Director Mr. Robert Owusu yesterday reaffirmed to this correspondent that the long awaited inaugural flights from Dar es Salaam and Kilimanjaro to Entebbe were on course to launch in six days time.He stated that the decision to relaunch flights to Entebbe came after a detailed market study which revealed that there was growing demand for flights between Tanzania and Uganda.
Precision Air halted Entebbe flights in 2013 after which Fastjet entered the route but also withdrew in December last year following a fleet rationalization exercise with left them with no aircraft to remain on the route. Precision Air subsequently decided to step into the gap using their ATR72 aircraft which is more economical to operate on relatively short regional routes.
‘Apart from the business relationships Tanzania and Uganda have a very rich history and we are going to honor that history by connecting the two countries through our services. We will start with four flights per week every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and every and Saturday. Passengers between Tanzania and Uganda should expect affordable and reliable flights‘ did Mr. Owusu say.
The airline also announced the appointment of their preferred sales agent in Uganda and named the Uganda Travel Bureau as their PSA to promote ticket sales on the route.
The first flight out of Entebbe will leave this coming Saturday at 11.20 hrs and will operated via Kilimanjaro before terminating in Dar es Salaam.
Precision Air presently operates the widest domestic network in Tanzania among the three major carriers and also serves Nairobi. Most recently has Precision launched scheduled services to Seronera, an airfield in the heart of the Serengeti National Park.
Precision Air is also the only local airline quoted on the Dar es Salaam stock exchange.
