STANBIC Bank Tanzania has relaunched its new full-service branch in Mwanza, in what the bank’s management termed as an endeavour to offer best-in-class banking services to its customers.

Speaking during the launch event held over the weekend and graced by Mwanza Regional Commissioner, John Mongella, Stanbic Bank Tanzania Chief Executive Ken Cockerill said the move was strategic and meant to improve the overall banking experience to the steadily increasing number of customers in the fastest growing city in the region.

“The new location is spacious and provides convenient banking atmosphere to customers, which gives us capacity to serve them better. As we continue to offer highly customized and personalized services, the branch has a dedicated private banking suite for our customers that may prefer an exclusive banking environment,” he said.

He added that with a rich history of over 150 years of operation in 20 African countries, Stanbic Bank has a wealth of expertise and capabilities in spurring investment within Tanzania, and the region in particular.

He said customers will enjoy the expertise of a team of financial experts to help them make the best of their banking experience.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Hon. John Mongella said the region has continued to improve its economic output by leaps and bounds, an opportunity to be leveraged by more financial institutions to extend their services to the ever-growing business community in the region.

"We have witnessed an increase in the number of financial institutions from 10 in 2005 to 27 in 2015. This all suggests that businesses are flourishing and reflects the pace of economic growth in our region. Considering the significant increase in business, there is still a great need for the existence of financial institutions offering low interest loans which will guarantee ease of access to capital," he said.

The new branch will offer among other products and services, a dedicated private banking suite and ATM services.

The Stanbic Bank’s Mwanza branch has been in operation since 1996 and it employs over 25 staff. It has been relocated to the Rock City Mall, which is the biggest shopping complex in Tanzania and one of the largest in the region.
