1.0 BACKGROUND

1.1 Tanzania Venture Capital and Private Equity Project (TVC) is a Joint

Project between Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) and TMS

Consultants Ltd.

1.2 On 06th February, 2014, the TVC – Project was formally accepted by the Tanzanian Private Sector and other Stakeholders and officially inaugurated by Hon. Dr. Mary Nagu (MP), The Minister of State in the

Prime Minister’s Office, Economic Empowerment, Investments and

Private Sector Development at Serena Hotel, Dar es Salaam.

1.3 On 05th November, 2014, Honorable Dr. Ghalib Bilali, the Vice

President of the United Republic of Tanzania, was the Chief Guest of Honor during the Opening Ceremony of the “First International

Conference on Venture Capital and Private Equity Investment

Financing in Tanzania” which was also held at Serena Hotel, Dar es

Salaam.

2.0 MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THIS CONFERENCE:

2.1 Over the two Conference Days, the Event will feature or project portfolio of Investment proposals presented by Tanzanian Private

Sector and Public Sector Investors that are LOOKING FOR VENTURE

CAPITAL AND PRIVATE EQUITY INVESTMENT FINANCING ON JOINT

VENTURE BASIS WITH FOREIGN INVESTORS. Hence, there shall be a project exchange centre under the organization and management by the TVC-Project Secretarial Staff during the conference days. Hence this conference will enable Tanzanian local investors to meet with potential foreign investors to present their project proposals for one to- one or business to business discussions and start business deal negotiations on a win-win situation.

3.0 IMPLEMENTATION STAGE:-

Tanzania Private Sector and Public Sector Projects that need Venture Capital and Private Equity Investment Financing will be Marketed for Match Making to Foreign Venture Capital or Private Equity Companies that will want

Investment Financiers as Joint Venture Partners during the following

5.0 TANZANIAN PROJECT OWNERS HAVE TO SUBMIT THEIR BUSINESS PLANS

TO THE TVC-PROJECT MANAGER FROM THE FOLLOWING SECTORS:-

• Natural Gas and Oil.

• Energy including Electricity Generation and Distribution including;

Renewable Energy.

• Infrastructure (Rail, Sea ports, Airports, Roads)

• Real Estates.

• Agri-Industries.

• Tourism.

• Minerals.

• Manufacturing.

• Information Technology.

• Financial Services.

• Social Services.

It is advised that Project Business Plans have to indicate the need for

Investment Financing from USD 5 million (USD five million) and above on Joint Venture Partnership Basis. Venture Capital and Private Equity

Investment Financing is NOT LOANS.

6.0 CONTRIBUTION TO BE PAID BY TANZANIAN PROJECT OWNERS WHO HAVE

SUBMITED THEIR BUISNESS PLAN TO TVC-PROJECT MANAGER AND THEY

WANT TO TRAVEL TO WASHINGTON (USA) WITH US:-

• USD 6,000 (USD six thousand only) per person this will cover one company staff to attend the conference without paying delegate participation fee, conference materials, lunch and Networking

Cocktail for the two conference days.

However, all project owners will have to make their own air travel and accommodation arrangements and related costs on their own account through our Travel Agent M/s Relax Safari Link Travel and

Tours for Air ticket and Hotel Accommodation Reservations at their own choice.
