Africa’s leading online marketplace Kaymu has further expanded to mobile marketing with the launch of its mobile app in September 2014.
Kaymu Tanzania has unveiled its first mobile application services in the country, enabling Android users to shop for goods and order directly from their mobile phones, and allowing sellers to manage their online shops and orders much more quickly and conveniently than ever before.
Addressing the press at the company head office in Mikocheni - Dar es Salaam, Kaymu Tanzania's Country Manager Erfaan Mojgani said “The application provides complete functionality, allowing buyers to conduct any and all Kaymu transactions: browsing different shops, categories and products, placing orders, and even communicating directly with sellers, while on the go.”
Additionally, the application – available on the Google Play Store – uses no data for Tigo smartphone customers. Any buyer or seller can download the App, register an account, and access the online marketplace with Wi-Fi or mobile Internet connection.
“The application’s benefits also extend to sellers, simplifying the new product listing process and giving them easy access to manage their accounts, edit their listings, and see their sales,” Erfaan added.
Recognizing that an increasing percentage of the online population in Tanzania is accessing the Internet via a mobile device, Kaymu has demonstrated its continued commitment to innovation and providing user friendly experiences to its customers. Furthermore, to ensure that iPhone users that they are not being ignored, Erfaan indicated that an iOS version of the application is already under development.
