The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has launched two digital platforms—the Central Motor Vehicle Registration System (CMVRS) and the Computerised Drivers' Licence System (CDLS)—to modernize vehicle registration and driver's license issuance. These systems enable citizens to apply for services online using their Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), eliminating the need to visit TRA offices.
This digital transformation is part of the Integrated Domestic Revenue Administration System (IDRAS) initiative, aiming to enhance tax administration efficiency.
