NMB BANK SPONSORS 39th ALAT ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Dodoma - NMB Bank has contributed a total of TZS 170 million as part of its sponsorship for the 39th Annual General Meeting of the Association of Local Authorities of Tanzania (ALAT). This amount is part of TZS 1.4 billion that the bank has disbursed to ALAT over the past nine years of its sponsorship.
The conference is set to take place in Dodoma starting, March 11, 2025, with the guest of honor being the President of Tanzania, H.E Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
NMB Bank’s Chief of Wholesale Banking, Alfred Shao presented a cheque to the ALAT leadership yesterday, March 10, 2025. He emphasized that the bank will continue its collaboration with this organization for the betterment of Tanzanians.
Shao highlighted that over this period, they have received substantial support from ALAT, leading them to comfortably sustain their sponsorship efforts, as they do so for the development of the Tanzanian people. “In addition to this amount, it is worth noting that we began our contributions nearly nine years ago. Having supported and this meeting, we will have reached a total of TZS 1.4 billion of our support to ALAT. We believe in continuing these partnerships,” he stated.
He mentioned that of the funds delivered today, TZS 100 million is provided as cash, while TZS 70 million is allocated for equipment and additional services.
Moreover, he invited all ALAT delegates to join the bank in an iftar meal scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, 2025, as an opportunity to share ideas and insights. He reaffirmed that throughout the duration of the conference, NMB will continue to provide its services at their booth located in the Jakaya Kikwete Convention Hall.
ALAT Chairman, Murshid Ngeze, noted the multiple benefits the organization has gained from its partnership with NMB, particularly in enhancing service accessibility for their constituents. Ngeze remarked that they have never faced obstacles in serving the public through local councils since NMB expanded its reach, facilitating service delivery.
“Whenever I am asked to speak about NMB, I share several points, but most importantly, we have never encountered service delivery issues in any local authority connected to the NMB network. They are truly close to us and more than that,” said Ngeze.
ALAT Vice Chairman, Sima Constantine, added that nothing can hinder their collaboration with NMB, as they consistently achieve significant successes within the bank.
