The call was made by the NMB Bank Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Ruth Zaipuna during the 12th graduation ceremony held in Morogoro over the weekend and attended by the bank’s management.
The graduation ceremony began with a holy mass presided by Father Isdory Ndekumanya who later joined the event’s chief guest, Ruth Zaipuna to cut a ribbon to inaugurate the school’s library.
Speaking during the event, Zaipuna commended the school’s board for the honor offered to her to officiate as guest of honor adding that the event reminded her of her form four graduation held 33 years ago at Kilakala Secondary School in Morogoro.
"Everyone has their own life journey, but the life journeys of others have something that you could learn from which can help you too. As you graduate form four today, remember that each of you has made a stride, so I take this opportunity to ask you to continue serving and trusting God but at the same time put an extra effort into everything you do.
"I have gone through various stages of education and then embarked on work life so as I said earlier, everyone has their own life journey, and sincerely speaking some of the things that helped me achieve success personally include putting God first in everything I do and every step I take.
"You also need a high level of discipline, and ensure to work hard in everything you do, be it small or big but you need to to continue learning every day," noted Zaipuna.
Zaipuna during the event lauded the Charlotte Secondary School Board under the chairperson Vidda-Joyce Makundi for spearheading the school’s success and congratulated parents and guardians for their efforts noting that she believes that behind every young child who believes in himself/herself, there is a parent who gives him/her that confidence.
Zaipuna used the opportunity to remind parents and students of the importance of creating a positive saving culture, urging them to join the NMB Youth Forum called ‘Go na NMB’ which comes with many benefits including financial literacy and other banking solutions including health insurance.
Earlier, the Principal of Charlotte Secondary School, Sister Monica Masaure lauded the parents for their cooperation in supporting their children's education since 2021 when they joined, while congratulating the teachers and non-teaching staff for supporting the well-being of the students.
Sister Monica reiterated that the mission of her school is to scrap second and third grades and remain with 'Division One' only.
During the Holy Mass before the graduation, Father Isdory Ndekumanya reminded the parents and guardians of Charlotte Secondary students that the foundation of good grades is built when a child is still in the womb.
"A good school is measured by success in the academic area, a school with many 'division ones' is perceived to be the best school, and this is the goal and inspiration of Charlotte Secondary, but unfortunately many schools forget the importance of character formation for these children, which begin in the mother's womb.
"No matter how educated we are with so many 'degrees' and PhDs, if we don't have good character, these are deemed useless” he stressed.
