Dar es Salaam: Absa Bank Tanzania has announced that it has made a substantial investment in its digital banking services to support efforts of the sixth phase government of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan in ensuring that banking services are accessible to many Tanzanians at affordable costs.

This was stated by Absa Bank Tanzania Head of Retail Banking, Ms. Ndabu Lilian Swere, during the first draw of the ongoing "Spend & Win" campaign, whose main goal is to encourage the bank's customers and Tanzanians to conduct various banking transactions using cards or digital banking services.

"This three-month campaign aims to reward our customers who conduct banking transactions using cards or digital services through our systems, which enable customers to access services quickly and easily, thus achieving their goals.

"As Absa Bank Tanzania, we have strengthened our digital services to align with the government's financial inclusion efforts to extend banking services to those who have not yet been reached, while continuing to use traditional banking systems.

"Our bank’s digital systems are fast, and we have enhanced our security systems to international standards. Therefore, we want to reassure all our customers to continue making transactions through our digital systems without any concerns," said Ms. Ndabu.

On his part the bank’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Mr. Aron Luhanga, added that the campaign aligns with the bank’s primary purpose, which is to empower Africa and the Tanzania’s tomorrow, together, one story at a time, guided by the bank’s new brand promise, "Your Story Matters."

"As we present this award to our customers and simultaneously improve our services through digital means, we believe we are helping to write various success stories for our winners and customers. Additionally, we are assisting our government in writing its story of ensuring banking services reach many Tanzanians across the country," said Mr. Luhanga.

The "Spend & Win" campaign will last for three months, with a winner emerging each month and receiving a new Subaru Forester 2024 car worth over TZS 40 million. To qualify, winners must regularly conduct transactions using cards or online banking services. At today's event, Dar es Salaam resident Rashid Nassoro Saidi emerged victorious, winning one of the cars.
