Dar es Salaam, [10/09/2024]: Absa Bank Tanzania has launched a “Spend & Win” campaign, an exciting promotion aimed at encouraging the use of digital banking channels while offering customers the chance to win a brand-new Subaru Forester 2014 model each month for the next three months. The campaign underscores the bank’s commitment to driving financial inclusion and aligns with its purpose of “Empowering Africa’s tomorrow, together, one story at a time” and its brand promise “Your story matters.”
"Just as the Subaru Forester offers safety and reliability on the road, our Absa debit and credit cards ensure that customers’ financial transactions are safe, secure, and easy. By using their Absa cards, customers not only enjoy peace of mind but also get a chance to win big," added Mr. Tesha.
The campaign mechanics are simple – any Absa Bank Tanzania customer who transacts using their debit or credit card automatically qualifies for the raffle draw. Customers who meet the threshold of 20 card transactions, totaling a minimum value of TZS 5 million during the campaign period, will earn raffle tickets for the monthly draw. Additionally, customers using Absa’s digital banking platforms will earn bonus tickets.
Ms. Ndabu Swere, Head of Retail Banking, elaborated on the terms of the campaign:
“We want this campaign to be inclusive and impactful. Existing customers, as well as new customers, are welcome to participate. The more transactions they make, the more their chances of winning increase,” said Ms. Ndabu. "Digital banking transactions through platforms like Absa Mobile Banking, Internet Banking, and Hello Money also offer customers additional raffle tickets, ensuring that those embracing digital solutions have even greater chances to win."
The “Spend & Win” campaign also supports Absa’s goal of broadening financial inclusion in Tanzania by encouraging customers to shift from traditional banking methods to digital transactions. Digital adoption not only provides convenience but also helps to reduce cash-based transactions, which is key to the government’s push for financial inclusion.
“We believe that increasing digital adoption is critical for driving financial inclusion in Tanzania,” said Mr. Tesha. “Our investment in digital infrastructure allows us to provide customers with secure and accessible banking services, no matter where they are in the country. The campaign will be widely promoted across multiple platforms, including popular radio shows such as Jahazi, XXL, Aplifaya, Sports Extra, and Ladha 360, as well as across digital spaces on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
