Mavunde said there are few clubs that own buses and congratulated GGML for continuing to contribute to the development of the people of Geita while insisting on the completion of the stadium being built in Magogo District for sporting activities.
Speaking on GGML's contribution to the team, GGML's Managing Director, Terry Strong, said the collaboration between them and the football club gives a true picture that it is more than the team playing in the Premier League because it includes unity, stability and a spirit of humility for the Geita community.
He said that GGFC had encouraged them with the efforts they showed in various competitions, starting from the coaches, players and people who volunteered to support the team, it was obvious that they had shown collective strength, teamwork and enthusiasm for the success of the team on and off the field.
"I am delighted to announce a significant contribution from GGML to GGFC. GGML has provided the team with a brand new 45 seater bus.
"This bus is more than a means of transport, it is an example of our commitment to the development of our football club within and beyond the Geita community. This bus will also help the players and staff to attend various matches and competitions and open doors of opportunities that they may not have had," he said.
He also thanked the Geita community and Tanzania in general for their confidence in GGML and for being the foundation of this success.
"We are committed to continuing our relationship with all of you. We are committed to growing this relationship and working together to develop a prosperous and united society," he said.
For his part, Geita Regional Commissioner, Martin Shigella, has instructed the leadership of Geita Town Council, through its Director, to ensure that they finalize purchasing of football kits for the team.
GGML, the main sponsor of the club, has invested over Sh800 million in the club during the current season.
