DTB Ladies in a jovial mood as they joined the International Community in commemorating the International Women's Day at the banks Head Office in Masaki - Dar es Salaam. |
DTB’s Head of Strategic Initiatives, Ms. Corrine Mtumbuka, while officiating at the event said that “DTB has lived to its guiding principle of being an equal opportunity employer. Women like men have the same chance to showcase their talents and capability with no gender hindrance. As long as you have the ability to work hard and deliver, you will grow and compete at equal level with men. The DTB Senior Leadership Team consists of 16 team members of which 9 are women. This does prove that women are given opportunities to shine at the top level in the managerial circuit”.
The women in the audience cheered as they welcomed the Head of compliance, Ms. Lilian Kawa who applauded Management for the introduction of a female mentorship program within the bank. “This Mentorship Program is destined to unleash the potential talent in young women in the bank through practical learning and sharing of experience, exposure to the industry best practice and one-on-one mentorship skills development. This program will help mentees feel encouraged and empowered in their own personal development as well as identifying and achieving career goals”, Ms. Kawa said.
The International Women Day festivities at the event ended with a speech from the CEO of Diamond Trust Bank Plc, Mr. Ravneet Chowdhury who congratulated all women within the bank for their hard work and dedication they all put in their jobs on a daily basis despite other responsibilities they carry from the family levels. “As women, it’s a task of each one of you to ensure that we leave a better planet for the future generations, Mr. Chowdhury said. He further reiterated on the key focus of the bank in 2023 covering Environmental, Social and Governance; commonly referred as ESG and how the bank plans on safeguarding the environment and creating policies that address the Climate Change.
