NCBA BANK TANZANIA APPOINTS JULIUS KONYANI AS AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


NCBA Bank Tanzania Limited has appointed Julius Konyani to the Board of Directors as an Executive Director following the redeployment of Gift Shoko to NCBA Bank Kenya as the Group Director, Regional Subsidiaries. This appointment has also been approved by Bank of Tanzania (BOT).

Konyani brings to the board over 17 years of extensive experience and expertise in Banking and Management having served in an array of leadership roles in banks locally, including CRDB Bank PLC, NMB Bank PLC, United Bank of Africa (T) LTD the Defunct Commercial Bank of Africa Tanzania among others.

Konyani is currently the NCBA Tanzania, Head of Retail and Business Banking where he has been instrumental in strengthening and growing its retail business following the merger of NIC and Commercial bank of Africa (CBA) in 2019. He was also the country project lead for the successful integration of the two banks which gave birth to NCBA effective July 2020.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from University of Dar es Salaam and an active alumnae of the University Business School (UDBS). He is also a certified director by Institute of Directors in Tanzania (IODT)

Commenting on the appointment, NCBA Tanzania Chairman of the Board Vinoo Somaiya noted thatKonyani’S broad executive leadership experience will be invaluable to the NCBA Tanzania board of directors in their oversight and quality assurance roles even as they execute their business strategy of innovation and growth.
