VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT - COUNTRY MANAGER, ALLIED MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS TANZANIA

Q-Sourcing Tanzania is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region in the countries of Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and South Sudan.

On behalf of Allied Mobile Communications Tanzania, we are looking for a talentedand competent candidate to fill the vacant position of Country Manager.

Essential Duties
  • The core function will be to manage, maintain and develop relationships for all business pillars in the Tanzania region. 
  • To ensure continued growth and achievement for revenue targets.
  • Obtain profit contribution by managing staff; establishing and accomplishing business objectives.
  • To lead and direct the operational day to day activities of the Tanzania business, driving the business to a new level of operational excellence, efficiency and effectiveness.
Duties and Responsibilities

Allied Ethos & Business Practices
  • Follow Allied Mobile fundamental values and serve as a role model to staff and customers.
  • Ensure business and personal practices are within the law and consistent with policies and procedures.
Planning & Development
  • Responsible for the establishment of both annual and monthly sales objectives in coordination with the Company's business plan.
  • Responsible for providing an annual Sales Plan and providing quarterly updates, revisions and modifications to the Plan.
  • Responsible for coordinating the specific objectives of the Sales Plan with all of the functional departments of the company.
  • In coordination with our Business Development, establish both market and target customer strategies for the company.
  • Revise processes to maximisebusiness intelligence.
Daily tasks
  • Direct the day to day operational management of the Tanzania business, applying as required a hands-on approach to producing solutions to strategic, technical, commercial, operational and personnel related challenges which impact on customer service and performance.
  • On award of contracts, lead the delivery teams in achieving their goals and objectives and ultimately ensure all contract requirements are delivered on time, within budget, technically compliant and to the highest standards of quality, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure an emphasis is placed on further developing a high-performing, innovative and influential operational support function capable of devising bespoke technical solutions to meet all business pillar requirements.
  • Ensure day-to-day operations maintain a continued alignment with overall corporate policy, strategy and direction.
  • Lead the constant drive and focus to improve operational efficiency via process, people or practical measures. In effect raise the bar on business performance delivery.
  • Deliver performance management objectives, agreed business plans, budget and targets and report on both plus and minus factors impacting on the business. In essence adopt a “no surprises” approach to reporting and leadership.
  • Develop and mentor direct reports and generally coach the team towards delivery of ‘fit for purpose’ solutions at lowest costs whilst maintaining service quality.
  • Sustain an incident free work environment for Tanzania.
  • Manage compliance with Company Values, Code of Business Conduct and support policies.
  • Ensure compliance with local legislative requirements for the work being performed by liaising with Human Resources and the internal audit team.
  • Foster suitable financial controls for such areas as tax, treasury, inventories, provisions and ensuring timely issue of invoices. Close liaison with the Financial Manager / CFO will be required in this regard.
  • Deploy suitable controls over local procurement and ensure robust terms and conditions are in place for each contract. Risk exposure versus reward will be a key performance factor and close liaison with the General Manager for Operations will be required in this regard.
Retail Employees
  • To effectively recruit, induct, lead, manage, train and develop National Retail Managers retail to agreed procedures and standards.
  • To ensure the effective management of all Tanzania white label retail to ensure adequate staffing levels throughout the business.
  • To give support to national retail managers so they have the opportunity to develop their skills in the role and to achieve growth in sales and meet our client’s requirements.
  • To ensure that all performance issues, and other issues within the retail space, are addressed in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • To uphold the reputation of Allied Mobile by maintaining high personal standards and projecting a warm, appreciative and welcoming attitude towards customers, and staff.
  • To effectively communicate with requirements to the different departments in the organization. 
  • To promote a customer care approach within the retail business, investigating escalated complaints or issues of poor customer care, both timely and efficiently.
  • To maintain and develop beneficial working relationships with other Allied Mobile departments to further the organisation’s objectives, including appropriate attendance at Management Team meetings.
  • To take responsibility for personal and professional development.
  • To ensure Retail sector appraisals are completed as per the company policy.
Product
  • To develop corporate policy driving display, merchandising and pricing with the national retail managers.
  • To monitor stock in obsolesce, ensuring there are adequate supplies.
  • To identify methods of stock generation in conjunction with the national retail managers, and to respond to stock concerns where relevant.
Sales and Marketing
  • Develop an annual sales plan for existing and future customers and ensure excellent client relationships are maintained by building openness and trust. Act as a key focal point for communications with clients on issues requiring the influence and authority of the Country Manager.
  • Manage the required delivery against the company’s sales budget as agreed with the Chief Executive Officer for Africa.
  • Manage and develop our network and distribution accounts across the Tanzanian region.
  • Work towards achieving sales budget and maximum sales whilst maintaining profit margins.
  • Work with customers and manufacturers to ensure sell through of product and structure marketing where required.
  • Ensure regular production of rolling forecast as per company process.
  • With the guidance of the Chief: Sales and Marketing, manage, mentor and coach the Sales team to ensure effective operations.
  • Responsible for the successful management and needs satisfaction for the Company's customers to meet the objectives of the company's overall business plans and strategies.
  • Define and manage the monthly and annual sales objectives.
  • Spend a significant portion of time in the field both with individual accounts and co-traveling.
  • Keep up to date with recent market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
  • Accurate reporting on weekly, monthly and annual sales results in line with achieved targets.
  • Any other duties that is instructed from the Chief Executive Officer for Africa via Mail or any other communication.
Job Competencies
  • A qualification in Economics / Business management or equivalent will be an advantage.
  • At least 5 years management experience.
  • Comprehensive Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft excel, Word, Power Point.
  • Strong sales skills.
  • Budgeting and Negotiation skills.
  • Staff Management and Motivational skills.
  • A comprehensive knowledge of the Telecommunications will be an advantage
  • Self-starter—Independent remote worker.
  • Ability to self-motivate and multi-task and work independently or within a team.
Technical Knowledge, Skills & Expertise
  • Must have the technical knowledge to make presentations and lead customer discussions to advance relationships. Must have the ability to develop and work extensively at the executive level.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Able to deliver value to the company’s operations and business development. 
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop relationships and work extensively at the executive level.
  • Outstanding Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
  • High proficiency in English and Swahili.
