AIRTEL ENHANCES COMMUNICATIONS TO THE FIRE RESCUE FORCE

The Commissioner General of Fire and Rescue, Thobias Andengenye addresses journalists in Dar es Salaam after receiving 29 mobile phones from Airtel Tanzania aimed at boosting communication within the force through the 114 emergency number. Airtel Tanzania boosted communication within the Fire and Rescue Force to ease communication has donating 29 handsets which will be used by in calling the 114 emergency numbers to report incidents.
The handsets have been handed over to all Fire and Rescue regions and   customers will be able to call the emergency number free of charge.
Handing over the handsets, the Airtel Tanzania Corporate Communications Director Beatrice Singano Mallya said they recognize the importance of the Fire and Rescue Force and believe that members of the public will now be able to get reliable services from the force.
“Airtel Tanzania now believes that through these handsets members of the public will be able to communicate with the Fire and Rescue Department on time whenever there is an emergency.
She said Airtel will continue cooperating with the Fire and Rescue Force to ensure that communication is eased to avert losses through fire incidents and other tragedies that need rescue services.
“We want to assure Airtel customers that the Airtel network is strong in all the regions covered and this donation should make good use of the emergency line,” Insisted Ms, Singano.
The regions that received the handsets include, Ilala, Kinondoni, Temeke, Coast, Morogoro, Dodoma, Iringa, Mbeya, Songwe, Njombe, Mwanza, Mara, Shinyanga, Tabora, Simiyu, Geita, Kagera, Katavi, Kigoma, Rukwa, Ruvuma, Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Manyara, Tanga, Mtwara, Lindi, Singida.
The Commissioner General of Fire and Rescue Thobias Andengenye thanked Airtel Tanzania for the donation saying it is a big boost to the Force and will increase efficiency to a great extent as customers will now be able to call easily and get services faster.
“We really appreciate this warm gesture that has been shown by Airtel Tanzania and we now believe that your customers will be able to reach the Fire and Rescue Force through the emergency number 114 which is free,” Commissioner General Thobias Andengenye said.
I urged other partners and stakeholders to join hands in assisting the Fire and Rescue Force in its endeavor to improve service delivery for the betterment of the security of the Nation.
