DEWJI, BAKHRESA LISTED FOR AFRICA CEO AWARD

TWO prominent Tanzanian entrepreneurs, Mohammed Dewji and Said Salim Bakhresa have been shortlisted for this year’s CEO of the Year Award by African CEO Forum.

The CEO of the Year for Africa will be announced in Geneva, Switzerland, on the evening of next Monday during the 5th Edition of Africa CEO Forum 2017, according to African Media Agency statement. The Forum is held in two days - Monday and Tuesday.

The forum - the most highprofile international event on African private sector development - for fifth consecutive year will honour Africa business leaders and companies that shaped the year in Africa.
The two Tanzanians will be competing with four others CEOs namely Abdulsamad Rabiu of BUA Group, Issad Rebrab, Chairman, Cevital, Naguib Sawiris, Chairman, OTMT Investments and Strive Masiyiwa of Econet.
Every year, the Africa CEO Forum Awards recognise those companies and investors whose strategies and performance have contributed most to Africa's growth dynamic over the past year.
During the night of 20 March, this year, in the presence of Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank, one of the finalists in each category will win an award.
The categories each with six contenders, part from CEO of the Year, are Young CEO of the Year, Africa Company of the Year, Africa Bank of the Year, Private Equity Investor of the Year and International Corporation of the Year.
To date nineteen awards have been given, including four prestigious CEO of the Year awards. All in all over 120 African and international companies and investment funds and more than 30 CEOs, all emblematic of Africa's economic vitality, have been nominated.
