TIB CORPORATE BANK DONATES 10 MILLION FOR SCHOOL DESKS IN MBEYA REGION

Mbeya, 30-July, 2016: TIB Corporate bank has donated TShs. 10 million for buying school desks for Mbeya region primary schools in order to ease the problem of desks shortage.

Speaking during the handover event, TIB Corporate Bank Managing Director, Frank Nyabundege said for students to excel in their studies, they need good learning environment and infrastructure. ‘We believe the problem of desks shortage have impacted negatively on education delivery in the country and that is why as a local Tanzanian bank we have decided to support this cause’ said Mr Nyabundege.

Nyabundege also re-affirmed the bank’s commitment in supporting government efforts in the provision of quality education in the country. He said the education sector faces numerous challenges among them shortage of learning and teaching materials. ‘Good learning environment is very critical for one to excel. We hope that these desks will provide such an environment for the students in Mbeya to learn in comfort’ insisted Mr. Nyabundege.

Mbeya Regional Commissioner, honorable Amos Makalla hailed TIB Corporate Bank for their gesture saying it will go a long way in ending the shortage of desks in Mbeya and subsequently improve education standard.

‘We are very grateful to TIB Corporate Bank because this donation will motivate students and play a critical role in uplifting education standards in our schools’ insisted Honorable Makalla.
