President John Magufuli has received credentials from four new ambassadors representing their countries in Tanzania.

The envoys presented their credentials at the State House in Dar es Salaam yesterday.

They included Mr Roberto Mengoni of Italy, Mr Kim Yong Su of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Mr Mohamed Hassan Abdi of Somalia and Mr Paul Sherlock of Ireland.

Dr Magufuli congratulated the diplomats for being appointed to represent their countries in Tanzania and gave them assurance that his government would expand the existing bilateral ties between Tanzania and their respective countries.

The president informed the envoys that between 2016/2017 and 2020/2021, Tanzania was committed to implementing its industrialisation plan, inviting their countries and the private sector from their respective countries to come and invest in Tanzania’s industrial sector.

“I want to assure you that all businesspeople who will come to invest or do business with Tanzania, their capital would be protected and my government will accord them any necessary collaboration to make sure that their investment is successful for the mutual benefit of the people in our countries,’’ he said when speaking to Mr Sherlock of Ireland.

Dr Magufuli further thanked the heads of state of the four countries, whose diplomats presented credentials to him, assuring them that the historic bilateral relations between their countries and Tanzania would be enhanced for the mutual benefits of their people.
