African low cost airline Fastjet and Amadeus, the global market leader in e-technology for airlines, travel agencies, the hospitality industry, have signed a landmark deal earlier this week.
The new cooperation agreement will give Amadeus users across Africa and beyond access to the airline's schedules, fares and other services at the click of a button, or two, making the bookings much easier for the benefit of passengers and agencies alike.
While Fastjet Kenya is still working to attain the all-important Air Operator Certificate (AOC) to commence operations, Fastjet Tanzania and Fastjet Zimbabwe do fly to a number of domestic and regional destinations, including Johannesburg, Harare, Victoria Falls, Lusaka, Lilongwe, Entebbe, Nairobi, Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Mwanza and Mbeya, all operated by single class Airbus A319's.
