CHINESE INVESTMENT TEAM FOR DAR

China’s Vice President, Mr Li Yuanchao
China’s Vice President, Mr Li Yuanchao, will start a six-day state visit to Tanzania next week to foster further ties between Beijing and Dar es Salaam, especially in the area of investments.
The visit, which starts on June 23, according to the Tanzania Ambassador to China, Mr Abdulrahaman Shimbo, makes yet another milestone on the Sino-Tanzania relationship that clocked 50 years to date.
“We have reached a good mutual relationship stage,” Mr Shimbo, who is a retired Lieutenant General, said when congratulating 32 students from Beijing and Tianjian high learning institutions who graduated in various fields this year.
The Vice President Amb. Shimbo said, will among other things, inaugurate various investments and projects during his six-day visit to Tanzania.
This is the first time the Chinese Vice President visits Tanzania since the new government came into power last year. China’s President Xi Jinping visited Tanzania last March, which was his first destination to Africa and the third, globally, after he become a red dragon top leader.
The visit of the Beijing VP is also expected to open doors for Chinese investments in the country especially in the area of management and industry.
The visit would help to boost foreign direct investments (FDIs) which last year stood at 2.0 billion US dollars to about 3.0 billion US dollars this year.
