GOVERNMENT COMMENDS AIRTEL'S ROLE IN EXPANDING CONNECTIVITY & ADVANCING NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Dar es Salaam, 11 December 2025 – The Government of Tanzania has applauded Airtel Tanzania for its continued leadership in expanding high-quality communication services, boosting national revenue, and creating employment opportunities for more than 2,000 Tanzanians.

The commendation was delivered by the Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Hon. Angellah Kairuki, during her official visit to Airtel Tanzania’s Headquarters on 11 December 2025. The visit provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions aimed at strengthening collaboration between the government and the private sector to enhance efficient and accessible telecommunications services nationwide.

Speaking during the engagement, Hon. Kairuki reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with Airtel to accelerate digital inclusion across the country.

“The government will continue working closely with Airtel Tanzania to ensure digital services reach all Tanzanians, both in urban and rural areas. We will also address all challenges raised by Airtel management to further improve efficiency in service delivery,” she said.

Airtel Tanzania’s Managing Director, Mr. Charles Kamoto, expressed appreciation for the Minister’s visit, noting that Airtel was the first telecommunications company to host her following her appointment.

“It is a great honor for Airtel to host the Minister. Although we had planned to visit her first, she decided to visit us, and we truly appreciate it. Airtel remains committed to expanding communication services across the country to ensure seamless connectivity for all Tanzanians,” said Kamoto.
